What's your favorite thing about mowing the Lorne Greene?

For me, it's driving a machine I like for an hour or so and nobody will cut me off or do stupid crap, and I can enjoy an adult beverage while doing it.

Oh and the silence. That amazing silence of that single cylinder Kohler.

"Shhh, Kohler is talking to me."

We don't mow with a tractor. (Ain't much grass and we like it that way).

But plowing snow though...

Same sensation..

"Man, it's cold out tonight, but look at that snow roll off the plow, and she's not even chugging."

*Satisfying sound of blade scraping driveway clean fills your ears*

Daddy Don

Don't mow grass with my wheel horse but I do hook my bass boat up to it and pull it out of the cover. Then hook my truck up to the boat and go fishing. The wheel horse is able to do most :greetings-clapyellow:anything you want it to.

I know exactly what you mean.
I upgraded from an early 2000's Husky 18HP V-Twin hydro to a 1989 310-8.

I can now tow my log splitter through my hilly yard easily. Couldn't do that before. :)

The lawn in the garden I do with a self propelled walk behind. I mow the green and lane verges with my C-125. Nice to be able to put I to use. Also gives me great satisfaction when people say how nice things look. :)

Being able to move a heavy load was the reason we accidentally got a wheel horse in the first place.

I had a late 80s, early 90s Murray lawn tractor.

Ran and drove great but I needed something physically heavier to be able to pull the trailers and at the time, logs, around the wicked hilly property.

It's amazing how much weight something as small as a Kohler 8 horse will move with great tires and a lot of added weight to the Tractor.

I won’t scare anyone with picture of my “front field” because the grass is burnt and the weeds are tall... but I love the hour or so it takes to Scag Zero Turn mow when I actually take the time to do so!

Mowing the yard with the 702 is the best practice there is for practicing left turns.  There is just something about going straight and then turning left over and over and over again that gives me goose bumps.  I've been mowing the grass 3 times a week so far this year...I wish it was 4.  I've got one of these in each corner of my yard during mowing season.  What a thrill.  :occasion-xmas:

WHX??

I don't get to :chores-mowlawn: much anymore since the missus figured out what seat time is. She takes twice as long as me so who's the dummy here?

Holy crap Norm is it greene over there!

Reminds me of a time in the Navy in Scotland when we were waiting for the launch to take us back out to the sub in Holy Loch in the rain and two policemen were waiting with us.

I asked one why it rained so much here and one in his Scottish accent said "Aye it's because the Lord wants to keep us green and beautiful".

My smartalec shipmate pipes in and says we thought he wanted to drown ye bas%$*&^$ ....... Paddys chased us down the pier to the launch!

My front yard is kinda small, maybe 100'x30'. I've taken to mowing one pass around the perimeter, then mowing diagonal in one direction, then doing a second pass the opposite diagonal. This makes the lawn look better, I tell myself, but it mainly doubles my seat time.

Really, really loving my lil 310. :wh:

My Dad had a Scag Tiger in the early 2000's. Great machines. At the time, he had about 6 acres to mow. The Scag was great with the rough stuff. I talked him into buying a 416-8 with a 48"SD for the finer stuff around the house. Great combo!

I tried to get that 416 after he passed and Mom had to sell the place, but the buyers insisted they wanted the WH. :(
