Transmission Support Plates / Reinforcement

Recommended Posts

Anybody have a drawing off-hand for the 2 plates I've seen to reinforce the fame where the transmission bolts on?

I had it written down somewhere, a pair of strips of metal with holes to match the 4 mounting holes. Cant seem to find it.

Thanks

I keep a copy of that thread in my email. I think that will have what you need in it.

The top  is 1 1/2"  x  6 1/8" long x 1/4 thick . The spacing is  13/16" center of hole 4 1/2"  to center of  other hole and another 13/16". The bottom one is 6 5/8 "  long x 1 1/2' with 1 1/16 center of hole  4 1/2' center of other hole and another 1 1/16"/. All holes centered in the 1 1/2" width.  If this is has the ridges in the trans plate I ground the  edge

The two FLAT plates shown above will do little to correct for cracks in the CORNERS of the frame plate.  I use 3/16 or 1/4" thick angle iron to make / repair plates to fix not only the FLAT, but the CORNERS as well.

The corners crack because the plate cracks around the four mounting bolts first. I have the corner support too on my Wheel Horses. I didn't fix a busted transmission I reinforce a good one.
