Honey I just brought a snow plow.... and a mower deck....

Have added my smaller spacers, with mixed success. I think they are not big enough as it's put the lift mechanism in an awkward spot where it doesn't quite want to lock in the up position. Need to either have no spacers or bigger ones as no matter what adjustment I make it's not quite right.

Anyway, it does work, just room for improvement.

On another note, I was down playing around pushing mud and dirt about the courtyard. With the rubber wear bar it doesn't have enough bite to do much so I need a steel wear bar. Do you guys just use mild steel? Or does it need to be hardened?

Loving the plow, cool bit of kit and everyones advice appreciated as always.

I use mild steel and  center the holes in the bar so it can be turned over for double wear.

Do you put any edge on it, or just as it comes from the shop?

I don't sharpen mine.   When used on a hard surface, they are self sharpening.            For grading dirt, you may need to sharpen to get a bite.

Will try it standard edge first then maybe get the grinder out....

I just use mild steel flat bar like Ed. Unsharpened. I also have rubber strips off an old farm yard scraper. These are wider than the bar and can be fitted behind it if needed.

You can also see the solid link that replaces the chain.

The setup in your picture is identical to mine with the rubber strip.

I'm slightly confused as to whether the steel strip above it is sacrificial or just there to hold the rubber and an extra sacrificial steel strip?

The metal strip, two strips in this case as I did'nt have a full length, stick below the blade by 1/2".

The plow is set up as good as I can get it, just need the steel wear strip and can attack some dirt with it.

Next item is the new (to me) mower deck. Have pressure washed any old grass off it and given the underside a coating of used oil. Now it's basking in the sun. Will grease up the spindles later on, but now it's time for a refreshing beer.

I wonder how old the deck is, no serial number on it that I can see.

Right, new question....

What length belt for that deck? The one that came with it won't fit the c125, seems to be at least an inch short with everything at its shortest setting.

I also tried the rear discharge belt and it's too short as well, that deck came with my c125 and worked.

To gain moldboard height when lifted you need to add spacers to the rear axle plow attach...

WHillbilly520H - Is that quick release "D-clip" on the lower left one of your "bolts that retain latch plates" as described in the plow manual?  The C-175 that I just picked up doesn't have anything securing the latch plates so I'm wondering if that is what the manual is referring to.
