Alex175 784 #6 Posted June 17, 2020 They are cool little machines. My father in law has one and still uses it for all sorts of tasks around his house, it's the only riding tractor he owns currently (though I am secretly working on finding him a Lawn Ranger). He loved them because they were made about 30 minutes from where they live here in CT.
Razorback 1,035 #7 Posted June 17, 2020 And I thought my Speedex was a simply-built, tough machine! Those Beavers are sooooo cool! I love looking through original documentation like that! (Can you imagine a company making something like that today? Hardly....... the tractor would be lighter, cheaply built, same with the implements. And the owner's manual would be difficult to read because it was translated from Chinese by a Chinese person who didn't speak English well!) Thank you for those great posts! 1

I am proud to share these my late dad liked them because his grandfather had one when he was growing up. In upstate New York. I have 2 photos of him and his dad and him and his grandfather. The first photo is his dad my late grandpa Henry Bottjer(Korean war veteran) and my late dad Craig Bottjer, the second photo is my late dads grandfather and my late dad. I have always been curious if the cart was also a beaver cart. These photos would have been late 60's or early 70's my adopted dad was born in 1962. Razorback 1,035 #9 Posted June 17, 2020 Great memories! Those pictures are some real treasures. Two people having a ball with a REAL garden tractor. Looking through the documentation, it amazes me what can be done with a 4 to 7 hp engine! 1

Stormin 9,981 #11 Posted June 17, 2020 (edited) I'd love to find one of the early lever steer ones over here. Don't think there's much chance though. Edited June 17, 2020 by Stormin

Zeek 2,286 #16 Posted June 19, 2020 Everyone like a nice Beaver! Thanks for sharing these. Even an old beaver with a lot of use can be cared for and still used for it's original purpose 1

It might have been. My late dad bought it. in new york. My late dad has family in Unadilla new york. My late dads name was Craig Bottjer. He was from new york. I am his only and adopted son Nathan Bottjer. I own 3 of his beavers. He had 12 but i sold them to close friends after he died. He i think bought some other stuff off you as well. Unfortunately my sister has a couple of items. If i would have let her she would have sold the 3 i kept or left them on the property for the bank to junk! This 750 hasn't ran since 2014 but i have kept it inside. I also have a lot of literature for the beavers. Did that stuff come from you?
Sparky-(Admin) 21,326 #21 Posted June 22, 2020 Can’t recall if there was literature or not. I sold my Beaver 750 to a guy named Peter, can’t recall his last name, but I think he was from NY. I bet that’s who your dad bought it from. I bought it locally here in Ct.

Yep that is who my late dad got it from. My youngest daughter maddison went with my dad to go get it. I now have the history of this machine got it from alan. He is still fine tuning the beaver registry on the beaver garden tractors. Its going to be awesome when he gets it done. Here is what he sent me for my machine. The guy I got it from inherited it when his dad died so it’s possible the Pendergast family were the original owners.
