Zach w 11 #1 Posted June 15, 2020 I bought a 74 c120 2 years ago and come to fall in love with it. Has been a multiple convo starter. Has been good to me for the most part. You know how old things are. They are gonna break. But honestly couldnt have made a better purchase. So I purchased a project wheelhorse. After giving my 74s engine a facelift (carb rebuild. Repainted every piece. Hand sanded it all. Just a labor of love.) Irealized how I enjoyed doing it. So I bought a wheelhorse from 73 from a local sale. Its an k181 8hp and I feel I understand the engine and all. But some parts are missing like carb and maybe a few pieces. Also theres a break on right hand side thats a wheel with a rounded pad which seems to be soft. And im sure ill find more things. But my biggest problem so far is its tge 73 "no name" from my understanding. Im having a hard time finding things on it bc of that. Is there a reference word that points me in right direction. And is anyone really familiar with this model?
ebinmaine 69,239 #2 Posted June 15, 2020 Trina and I are VERY familiar with that tractor. I have 2 just like it. A 74 B80 and a 74 C160. We've done some work on the B and a full frame off restoration on the C which is my Cinnamon Horse. The 1973 model year has become known affectionately as the "no name" year because from 68 to 72 the horses had a name like Charger, Raider or Electro and the 73 dropped the names in favor of simply using the description of the tractor as it's name. As far as parts go you can base everything you are trying to find on a 74 B or C Series. I can't remember which length frame was used (mid or long) but it shouldn't matter. The Kohler 8 engine is an absolute favorite among many of us. The carb will be easy to find having been so popular. The brake is also easy to source replacement material for. One of our vendors sells them. The seal behind the brake drum is very likely in need of replacement which is an easy repair as well. What parts are you looking for specifically?

gwest_ca-(File Mod) 11,154 #4 Posted June 15, 2020 Is this what you have? Click on the pictures. Notice the HS in the file name. That is for Horizontal crankshaft. They also had a VS 4-speed in 1973 - Vertical crankshaft Keep the questions coming. Garry

Zach w 11 #6 Posted June 20, 2020 Sorry forum has problem telling me i have replies. I conteplated parting her out. Even though she in great shape. Wife lost her job so moneys tight but ita so hard to even think about bc of her shape. I stare at her daily. Just can't decide. It will take some coin to get going and it may be awhile. But heres a picture. Only thing painted is flywheel cover. Rest is orig. My 74 c120 I'm just finishing putting back together. They would look so good together. One day both fully restored. I choose her out of 4 other horses at the sale.
