cleat 5,860 #1 Posted June 13, 2020 Just picked this up. First brand new truck I have bought since 1987. Prices have changed a bit since then. Of course it is red. Every option available for an XLT except the sunroof. 5.0L Coyote engine with a 10 speed transmission. Here it is still at the dealership. Here I have just pulled into my driveway. Sparky-(Admin) 21,312 #3 Posted June 13, 2020 Very nice! I hear ya on truck prices. I buy em 3 years old now, let someone else take the depreciation. My Tundra was $39,000, bought it when it was 3 years old for $25,000. Only way I can swing it

Ed Kennell 38,028 #5 Posted June 13, 2020 (edited) Luv those roomy Crew Cab rear seats. With the seats flipped up, you could live back there. I camp in mine. Edited June 13, 2020 by Ed Kennell
cleat 5,860 #6 Posted June 13, 2020 Here is the window sticker on my new truck. 2020 F-150 Windowsticker.pdf Options on this one are more than I paid for the whole truck in 1987 (I got a brand new truck for $12,000 taxes in back then, of course it was a very basic truck). Luckily Ford is desperate for sales during the Covid virus and I paid less taxes in than the list (sales tax here is 13%) by a few thousand. Dealer also threw in Line-x spray in bed liner. This is my old truck, a 2002 F150. I sold that one for $7000.00 and put that towards the new truck. Old one was nice and the 5.4 pulled well but the new one is nicer and the 5.0 in it has a crazy amount of power (and it is still breaking in with just 600km or 360 miles on the odometer).
pfrederi 17,674 #7 Posted June 13, 2020 Nice truck...but my first house, brand new was a lot less
cleat 5,860 #8 Posted June 13, 2020 I bought my house in 1992 for $79,000 I am still there house long since paid for. I guess that is part of the reason I can afford a new truck. Plan is to retire next year so I will have a new truck and fairly new car (2015 Cruze with 30,000 km that my mom bought new and I have inherited). I go in for hernia surgery next week (this has been on hold due to covid ) and hopefully after that I will be able to retire with no major health issues. 6
cleat 5,860 #9 Posted July 8, 2020 Installed a tailgate assist damper. Works great, you just unlatch the tailgate and it gently opens. I then installed a beautiful tri-fold tonneau cover by Undercover flex. My daughter Bailey was a great help as I still can't lift a lot due to my hernia surgery. You can see the great Linex spray in bedliner here as well.

I feel ya there I had hernia surgery in 2011 and I still have issues. But i put it on myself I am always lift this old iron around when i shouldnt. I had double hernia surgery. umbilical hernia and groin hernia. was out of work for over a month because i couldnt stop lifting and working on my toys. LOL That was super nice of your daughter to help!!
cleat 5,860 #11 Posted February 15, 2021 Just picked up this new 5.5' x 11' aluminum trailer to haul my horses around. I am excited to actually be able to drive a machine on with the deck attached. My old trailer is just an inch short both ways of 4 x 8 and it was just too small. 1
Ed Kennell 38,028 #12 Posted February 15, 2021 Neat rig...so the ramp section at the front slides into the tailgate ?
cleat 5,860 #13 Posted February 15, 2021 Yes, I have not tried it yet and really think this is a good idea as it reduces the wind drag caused by an empty trailer with a high gate without the finger pinching folding gate. However, it looks as if it might be a 2 man job to install it.
Ed Kennell 38,028 #14 Posted February 15, 2021 Maybe a DIY if you get in the trailer and lift at the center....after the hernia heals of course. I guess you have the option to leave it assembled if there is no help available. After i had my abdomen recapped with a polyurethane mesh mat., the surgeon said no lifting over a quart of milk for 6 weeks. I asked how much after 6 weeks? Answer...25 lbs. I asked 25 lbs for how long? Answer....forever. Sure glad the K engines and snow plows only weigh 25 lbs.
cleat 5,860 #15 Posted May 14, 2021 Finally got the trailer hitched to the truck and drove on a 520 just because I could.
cleat 5,860 #16 Posted July 11, 2021 Hitched trailer to a horse then loaded a horse and drove around the yard. Steering is a little sketchy but otherwise it worked. No need to do this, just having a little fun. 2
