Pullstart 63,315 #6 Posted June 13, 2020 We’ll have to ask @953 nut what the story behind this donkey is... I’ll note too... in the last picture I didn’t realize until now that’s I captured Bud’s hot rod with a blown bead in Portage, WI last year! 5 1

Rare earth magnets are not too uncommon nowadays. Couple of them should do a good job of holding a hood ornament on. Anybody got one that lights up like the old Pontiac ornaments?

Be prepared to repaint the hood when it comes off it could remove the paint . Things tend to stick real after been out in the hot sun.

Pete's used them too. My Cinnamon Horse hood had 2 holes from the OE ornament. I lined up one of the holes in the ornament and drilled the other in the hood to match. I wasn't concerned about making extras because the hood is VERY rough.

That pack mule is an old metal trophy topper I picked up at a flea market. Our tractor club was re-purposing a bunch of old trophies to hand out at our show and the mule was in the bundle. 5

71_Bronco 1,072 #18 Posted June 13, 2020 Heres the one I picked up and was thinking about using (just sitting on the hood for now). Its from an early 50's Cadillac if I recall correctly. I liked it because it wasnt too tall, but it seems a little big on the short-frame hood.
8ntruck 7,223 #19 Posted June 13, 2020 How about one of those small gun sight type emblems used on Mecurys in the early 60's? 1
