The Tuul Crib 7,336 #1 Posted June 12, 2020 So the last month or two in quarantine I decided to paint all the parts for my charger rebuild. With that now set aside and has time to cure I decided to start on the transmission rebuild . I had to take priority and do a couple jobs for some customers.Now its time to dive into this Sunstrand. Got all the parts cleaned and set aside ready to go. Now I need to fix the brake pawl and l need to make a decision between a 14 horse or 16 on this tractor. seems to be an easy decision but I'm still thinking about it. 8 2 Share this post Link to post Share on other sites

charging10 233 #8 Posted June 13, 2020 check them needle bearings, when i rebuilt my 1054 tranny i wasnt going to replace them but after closer inspection i discovered they had much more play so i changed all, very easy fix and lowell here on red square had everything i needed . 1 Share this post Link to post Share on other sites

The Tuul Crib 7,336 #10 Posted June 14, 2020 Today I got the slippers surfaced and I am trying to figure out how to get the swashplate out of the pump to surface it as well. The Tuul Crib 7,336 #11 Posted June 17, 2020 (edited) So I got home today and got the swash play out. I started with 400 grit went to 600 grit now I'm at 1000 grit. I'll have to wait till I can go to get some 1500 paper to finish it off and have a good polish shine. sure is hard on the arms doing this but it should be worth it. The Tuul Crib 7,336 #12 Posted June 19, 2020 (edited) Today I just fixed the parking brake pawl. A little bit of welding and a little bit of grinding! Also just ordered the correct seals from Wheelhorse parts and more , and painted the deck as well. It had three holes in the deck and I put patches and all of them! my hats off to Jollet and I hope I spelled her name right. She is A real hoot! Great service there! The Tuul Crib 7,336 #15 Posted July 2, 2020 (edited) Getting some parts together to make sure everything spins freely. Trying to get this back together so I can start putting together my charger. All the pieces are clean and painted and have been sitting for a couple months. Hope to have something to look at soon! Plus I'm looking at the shaft around the key area and looks like it has been repaired. Does look like it's been done professionally. No cracks! Oh and by the way I don't have all the bolts in the bull gear. I work four 10 hour days so I'd rather come sit down! Got to go get new nuts😂😂😂! The Tuul Crib 7,336 #17 Posted July 4, 2020 (edited) That is what I'm planning on doing I just put a couple bolts as well as new nyla nut to hold it together until I can get the correct ones but I'm still looking for 11 1/4 x 1 1/8 axle. lynnmor 7,302 #18 Posted July 4, 2020 I can't tell if that key cut was repaired or not. If the width is much greater than the key, that can look like a repair as the bulge forms from the displaced steel. Whatever you decide on the axle, be sure that you have a set screw on top of the key and add another if needed at 90 degrees from the key. Ordered a piston today for the 16 horse and machine shop said it needs to go 30 over. The Tuul Crib 7,336 #24 Posted August 21, 2020 Starting to make a little progress today got the hood stand on and set the hood on top to see if it fit. Yep!! I had a hard time trying to locate a simple 1/4 20 set screw to put the steering wheel shaft in place. Out of all the parts and pieces that I have I still had to run to Ace to pick up a $.75 part !
