I've come across him before. Nuclear engineer from Berkshire. The bikes he's built are fantastic. Even one with a Viper engine. :bow-blue:

Building an engine that is either smaller or larger out of most any style of engine like this guy has, has fascinated me for decades.

I believe I've got some more viewing to do later....

Thanks Norm. I'd say that's a safe assumption.

Must be twenty-five or thirty years ago now? I was at the CMS GMA engine show in Orange Massachusetts. There was a fellow there who very much appeared to be your standard-issue movie character stereotypical nerd.

Physically speaking he looked about as out of place at an engine and machinery show as you could possibly get and that was undoubtedly part of what attracted me to his booth.

Absolutely fascinating man to talk to. He had taken a 3.8 L GM supercharged v6 and made it a V2.

I can't remember which cylinder is he removed but obviously he had cut the engine, heads, intake, supercharger, etc. Into three pieces and reassembled it into a running machine. I don't remember even seeing the seams.

Why? Something to do. Just wanted to know if one could do it so he tried.

I must have stood there talking to him for at least a half an hour.

Your story reminds me of the ‘Home Show’ I went to 30-35 years ago. Stood at a booth admiring and listening to a guy who made a grandfather clock out of wood!  Not just the case, but all off the clockworks, gears, etc!!
