No choke 418A

Recommended Posts

Hey I've got a 418A 75% of the time it starts and runs great and does all it should. 25% of the time it is flooding with excessive cranking no start. It will eventually start i usually wait 15 and come back. No effect on performance just start. Choke seems to have no function, no effect noticed when lever is pulled although linkage is moving as it should..

Is there an effective way to rebuild these carbs, a kit? Just cleaning? Should I get a new? Is there a good manual?

Thanks in advance,

Tim

The kohler carbs are easy to rebuild. But i say this because i have did so many. The kits are cheap online. And if you choose to buy genuine kohler just so you know there kits are made in india. Isavetractors has them kits and the carbs.

The problem with starting is typically the fuel draining back to the under the seat tank. Adding an electric fuel pump or one of these primer bulbs improves starting dramatically.
