horseyheaven 112 #3 Posted June 7, 2020 Allis Chalmers WD-45 gas. Very tough tractors and very reliable for lots of hours of use. I’ve done a lot of farming on these in my youth. No other tractor this size has as snappy of governor and engine performance. Still my favorite. Would like to own one of my own someday. They perform very well. Would be worth getting it running. Parts are plentiful from AGCO (Allis Gleaner Corp.). Many other suppliers as well online. Two clutches gives you live PTO. They made a WD (straight gearshift from 1948-1953). The WD-45 was made from 1953-1957 (curved gearshift). 3 1

We've been here in Manitoba now for 8 years and this tractor hasn't turned a wheel, the tires when I fist seen it were already sinking into the ground. Have no other history on it, but if your interested in negotiating a deal with the current owner i can inquire from neighbours who owns the property and pass that information forward. All the engine parts are on the engine no missing carburettor or other small parts the tractor is in an old garage with easy access from the highway, a straight run.

stevasaurus 22,717 #6 Posted June 7, 2020 I was going to say that looked like an Allis Chalmers. We had one on the farm in Wisconsin when I was a kid. My favorite of the ones we had.
horseyheaven 112 #7 Posted June 8, 2020 (edited) Bc gold, I had better not. My wife would blow a gasket. I just finished a 190xt turbo diesel that I put a cab on. It runs my round baler and odd jobs around our place. Awesome tractor. Love the sound of a 301 turboed. Edited June 8, 2020 by horseyheaven 1 4
Pullstart 62,834 #8 Posted June 9, 2020 My wife owns one, I got it for her birthday some 5 years ago? We basically parade it around the property, but have been able to pull the three bottom plow when conditions are just right... along with the 8’ disc. It is too bad he was gone before we did it. He bought it an an auction because he thought it would be better for me to haul manure with it than the R Moline I was using. He bought the Moline new in 1946. I just thought he didn't want me to wear the R out. Plus the WD was alot easier to rake hay with. Wide front and all. Both the WD and the R have been restored. I always wanted a bigger AC tractor on the place. But, My dad and uncles were (and still are) ALL GREEN... When the 8550 AC's came out with the 2 pipes I really wanted one. But, GREEN prevailed. We still use the WD45 on an auger. or smaller jobs it can handle. And the R has a 2 row cultivator on it for gardens. Restore it or at least get it going.. You will like it. Good Luck.
