Tiller into a Dethacher

Has anyone ever converted tiller into a dethacher?  Seems silly to keep paying $75 every other year to rent a dethacher that always seems like it is need on new knives.

Especially if I could remove the tilling tines and put on some sort of spring loaded tines to dethach. Maybe even put some height guide wheels on

I was walking through the local TSC store the other day and saw replacement hay rake (?) teeth that looked like they could be adapted on a project such as yours.

 

Remove the tines and replace with dethatching teeth.  Maybe add a few more hubs on the tiller bar to get more teeth closer together.
