Yes Perry, I have a 69 Workhorse 700 that has a block off plate you could put a light in it.

I've been looking for a hood for mine someone cut it up for another engine :P .I think there are others but only 68-69 as far as I know, I could be wrong :D

Or you could take a short frame hood and drill out the spot welds and a long frame hood with light hole grind it and weld them together. Just remember the hood you are saving the top you can drill a hole through, you will weld it up later, the hood you are keeping the grille from take a die grinder and grind just the weld on the hood just so you can pop them apart with a gasket scraper or stiff putty knife, that way there is no holes in the grille, easyer to weld shut. then set it up on a tractor to line it all up, and weld the holes shut, piece of cake :( but I do bodywork for a living, but still not that hard. just my two cents. Perry, my 867 was a short square hood with headlights too. The parts manual shows this as correct as well. Not sure of any other 1967 models...

Just FYI for your search...

I'm not sure about all 67 models but my 857 and the hood I have for a 877 both do not have headlight holes, my long frame tractors only have headlight holes on the 68 and newwer tractors but I'm no expert. maybe Bill or Tricycle Terry have a answer they seem to get to the bottom of most of the questions around here. Perry what are you putting together?

Also Perry I know where there is a 877 parts tractor if you need more parts, He want $200 for what's left it's pretty striped, but will sell parts off it, I got a few from it fairly cheap. Kelly in MI.

I think the 68 Commando 8 is considered a "short frame" and they had headlights optional. Mine doesn't have them, but there is a space for the H/L bucket behind the escuteon plate, and a blank for the switch on the dash.

Perry there were a few made set up for the lights.

Most have already been mentioned.

!967 was probably about the 1st year for them.

The later short frames probably all had the hole in the hood...but most probably had the escuteon plate put in.

i am just looking for a winter hood to set on the 877 when plowing snow. and i like to keep it stock looking as possible. i had a short commando 8 with lights but it was the 70's style hood. i just dont recall ever seeing a mid-60's hood with factory lights.

You'll have to verify this with Joel, but I think the 1969 Commando/Charger hood might be the same length too. (You'd have to change the hinge bracket, of course)

They also have the headlight hole that's covered up by the #7416 escutcheon plate.

If some one gets me a measurement on a short frame hood, I'll tell you if they are the same. I think your right Terry, but I'd have to double check. No short frames here yet. Oh wait that one will get to stay in a heated garage till its ride to PA
