What have you bought recently that is made in the U.S.A

Wondered how many other folks have had enough of the cheap crap that comes from overseas? I have always tried to go out of my way to buy items made here in the good old U.S.A. I recently bought me the bundle of 6 pairs of socks. My grand daughter needed shoes so we bought her some and i got my socks 1/2 off. I love them they are comfortable! It’s not easy. I spend a lot of time and money buying US made items. Time looking for them and money paying top dollar for them.

The socks sold by United Foot Gear are actually made by a company located in Fyffe, AL called Bur-Tex, who manufacture a great line of hosiery.

My late dads cousin has her own vet clinic in upstate New York I have a pair of lama socks 100% pure lama wool. She works on farm animals mainly. And someone she has helped out a few times. Gave her several pairs of socks. My late dad had them in a draw that i went threw when he passed away. I have worn them a few times they are made in upstate new york. Not on a mass scale tho.

My father wore what I thought at the time were dorky Romeo's, now that I'm retired I find myself walking in his boots.

 

These are made in Winnipeg, the pair i currently wear is going on seven years of daily use, rain, snow and sub zero weather sometimes totally submerged in swamp water.

 

The first day these new Romeo's get worn I'll head on down to the river behind our property and give then a good soaking, softens up the leather on the foot corns.

Sadly I recently bought a package of 4 female & 4 male air hose connectors at Home Depo.  They are junk.  I have a 2 quart paint pot that I attach to my belt.  I've been painting cabinets for the house Im doing an addition on for my son.  As I walk along painting cabinets the air hose drags with me.  But the fittings blow apart with the slightest side pull pressure.  All 4 sets are junk and are going back to HD.

I realize you're probably referring to new stuff but recently bought this Made in the USA 70s ventilation fan for the O&R collection of tools. It was used by the LAFD, Los Angeles Fire Dept.

That grill...7. something grill to top of lid.  That is not enough for an 18 to 20 LB turkey.  That is the issue I have while looking for a new grill.  I'm doing a turkey breast today, and my lid hits that...barely, but it hits it.  I used to have a domed lid on my grill...limped it as far as  I could.  Hope to find another one like that.  That is a lot of money for a grill...I know they are expensive, but I am ready to use cement blocks and make my own.  Might spend $30 for the blocks.  Sorry, I've been looking for 3 years now.  Everything is either gas or propane...charcoal seems to be a dying thing...thank you California.

They sell alot of grills now that do both. gas and charcoal. i have seen even walmart has 2 different grills that are strickly charcoal and wood and they are made here. There not super fancy but they would due the job. I use to own a charbroil grill that did both i regret being drunk and giving it to my old neighbor guy when i moved. LOL

It would take literally thousands of photos of everything I have around here. Unfortunately the majority made a long time ago. As I said before I spend a lot of money and time buying US made items, but it’s not easy.  Now many items say assembled in US from world wide items. Better but misleading. Possibly still junk that does not really benefit user or country 100%.

 We let it go too far and still tolerate it. Like a drug we have become addicted to cheap disposable stuff and the people supplying it know.

  There are a couple of individuals that in the last few years developed specialized tools for my line of work. Patented them, and manufacture them themselves. Recently exact copies of them started being sold on Amazon and eBay for a fraction of the price and guess where they are made. As individuals they do not have the resources to fight this on their own so there is nothing they can do. Blame has to go first to the companies selling them (ironically they place the two items together showing the very different prices), and our government that allows this to go on.
