WHGrizzy 0 #1 Posted May 7, 2009 Could anybody tell me on what type of oil to put in my 312-8 transmission? I read on another post that it takes 2 qts, but I need to know what to put in there. Has anybody Lucas Oil products in there WH's? I am the second owner of this tractor, my dad was the original owner, he had the gears replaced about 15 years ago and has never touched it since. sorekiwi 761 #2 Posted May 7, 2009 The Lube Recommendations manual states "SAE 90-140 API Service GL-5 Gear Oil". I've used Lucas 90 wt gear oil in a couple of mine, as I got a 5 gallon bucket for free. It seems as good as anything else. I have another couple of transmissions that I made sure I used the 90-140 in, as they kinda needed all the help a thicker oil could give them!! Share this post Link to post Share on other sites
