Can i pull my DR Leaf Vac Cart ?

Recommended Posts

basszillla

i'm looking to purchase a Toro 416H (870 hours) to replace our '07 Husqvarna YTH2246 yard tractor.   It is still running OK, but the mowing deck is no good anymore.     I have previously pulled or DR Lawn/Leaf vac cart with it, tho it does strain a bit with the weight when full of leaves.
Would the Toro be under-powered to use for this for 2~3 days each Autumn (aprox an acre of maple & oak leaves mostly)?      Either way, our lawn needs mowed badly now, since the Husq deck is not functioning anymore (mainly weld seam breaks & deck metal splitting ).

The Toro has the snowblower included , witch could come in handy in the winter.

Should have no issues pulling a Dr leaf vac.I use a tired 416-8 to harvest leaves in the fall. The Agri Fab has been modified to shred the leaves as it vacuums so the total weight loaded is many times higher than whole leaves.2015.11.13.1402.thumb.JPG.a0050e5acd706d1efee9025f0dc44b3d.JPG

:text-welcomeconfetti: to the forum.  Lots of good folks here.

I've never used a 416, but I think it will do just fine with the leaf vac.

I'm sure some 416 owners will come along shortly and comment.

The 416 will pull the DR Vac full of leaves and the Husky H2246 hooked behind it just fine:handgestures-thumbupright:.

Pullstart

:text-welcomewave: from an hour and some change west of ya!  As mentioned, you’ll have no issue there.  We pull well over the weight of our tractors on a regular basis... sometimes we even have wheels!

Here’s a few pics of what 6, 8 or 12 hp will even accomplish.

The 16hp engines of yesterday will do all of the work of todays 22-24hp engines and more. :twocents-mytwocents:

No sweat for a 416-8.  They are awesome machines.  Enjoy.  I have 2 of them.  One with Onan twin (1300 hrs) and one with Kohler single cyl (2000 hrs).  You will find they are much more machine than a husqavarna.
