If I am partly responsible for making just one of you fellas pick up a paint gun and give it a try, I am a happy camper!

Again, it is MUCH more difficult to make a spray can job look good- if you’re even halfway decent at that, you’ll be a pro with a spray gun!

I think seeing yours done will motivate me. If I lived in North Carolina, Id be dropping my stuff off to you:D.

I use these guns. They are cheap, come with a regulator and work great.

Ive got something like that that I will have to try out. Thanks for the link.

That’s what happens when it goes straight from being used to ‘hey, I have four days off, wonder if I can paint it by Sunday!’ Haha

Thanks fellas! Not too thrilled at how the belt guard came out, the holes should’ve been stacked vertically instead of angled.  I spent a LOT of time staring at it, drawing with a sharpie etc... and arrived at ‘meh.’
....and the steering wheel? Oh boy- over an HOUR drilling, smacking, attempting to press, cussing up a storm 🤬  Finally threw in the towel, fired up the cutoff wheel, and split it off the shaft. STILL was a battle to drill and press the remainder of that ******* pin out.

I hate to ruin ANY oem

part, but it’s a C120 belt guard and steering wheel, not an RJ. Sometimes sacrifices must be made to keep ones sanity, right?

Got a few minutes after work. Rescued a steering wheel from the stables, shortened the steering shaft to put the wheel right at the dash, and whipped up a custom dash panel. The guys are off tomorrow and Friday but I’ll be here answering phones, emails, and on my own clock- tractor time!

Top- choke, start button, ignition switch. Bottom left for lights. Slot on right for throttle:handgestures-thumbupright:

Do any of you guys have this issue with serious overthinking? Like that dash panel- I stared at it and drew on it for a good 15 minutes with sharpie in hand, trying to figure out which switch should go where.

There have been multiple cases where "Dude, stop. It is a tractor." pops into my head. To many, our beloved Horses ARE 'just a tractor', but to us they are much more.  At the same time, this will see a life of work, not a glass box on a museum turntable:lol:

Anyone else have to turn the brain down a notch at times?

Only every hour of every day....

I've done that exact same thing more times than I can even begin to care to count

If I needed 2 holes in a dash panel and I drilled 34 I would suddenly figure out that I could mentally justify 57.

When you compare the fact that it is, just a tractor, to the fact that it may or may not be a showpiece or may or may not be a worker...

I would actually find it far more important to be ergonomically satisfying on a worker because you'll be using it, often.

How much time do you think I put into the potential locations of the lift / lower lever on the Charger hydro?

Yes indeed, but my overthinking makes for a complex build and I have "do overs" until I refine it down to "KISS". Nice tractor and damn those steering wheels

I never thought of holes or slots in the belt guard. My guard was ugly, and it didn't look right. I thought only a smaller one in a shape to complement my custom would satisfy me, so I built it. But a second piece was needed for more protection. I made this one "disappear" by painting it the same as the footrests and I got the result I wanted.

Yap... 😂

sometimes i thinkering for some more implements and/or changes,

than i must bring myself back to like two souls in the chest.

one of this soul tolds me

heeey it shall be original, keep the Patina, keep the muffler and keep cool....

the other soul in me screams

make a custom of it, change things and bring it back to shine

do it do it do it...😎

Some things i have to discuss with myself few times more.. 😂

Buddy, I lost my temper THREE times today messing with that wheel and had to walk away....and that was AFTER it was apart and trying to reassemble, countersinking the plastic on the wheel and using a bolt instead of a roll pin.
One pair of vice grips was thrown 🤣
