Frist time in a WH Transmission

My 5053 or a 5025 3 speed trans has wore a cap bearing in half and damage the right side case (3900) and the 44 teeth gear shaft/brake shaft.  So Rebuild or replace whole  trans.

I need the parts or transmission

I have a 5085 gearbox.... from an Commado 800.  1972 Model # 1-0110 and fits these others:

NOTE... the 4-bolt pattern is the same on these...    I've never opened it up but all the gears work and it has been INSIDE for 20+ years.  Too heavy to ship but can be picked up at my shop in n/w PA   zip 16433.  About 40 Miles south of Lake Erie.  Bring a Grant, a Jackson, and one Lincoln with you.

@daveoman1966  Robin has the #5053 3 speed.  The case halves are the same, but he also wants to change out the 11/44 tooth gear.  Robin's 11/44 tooth gear has the brake drum on it.  Your brake drum is on the cluster gear shaft.  He could bolt in the 4 speed, but then he would have to modify the brake linkage.  :eusa-think:

Thank you stevasaurus...  good info for all.  I was only sure that the bolt-up pattern was the same on these...not sure about the linkages.

Hopefully the 'newbie'  finds this informative as well.

My email is:   daveoman@windstream.net...

should anyone want to contact me outside of RS

Robin and I were on the phone yesterday for quite a while...he sent me some pictures so I was able to verify what he has there.  The horse is a 657.  :occasion-xmas:
