Fumy they were allowed to ship the motor with oil in it Flats? 

Shovelhead man here myself but that is one boss motor. Seller/Shippers ever come clean on the damage?

Haven't used one since about 1995 when the company I was working for switched over to Baldwin.

  An older engine would be awesome!  I couldn't find much on the market this winter that wasn't ridiculously overpriced.  I doubt he followed the rules very closely, but then again I'm not for sure all the LTL Freight rules and regulations.

 

  He didn't pay for insurance.  This blows my mind!  I would never ship anything close to this value without some insurance.  I think he was stuck eating whatever we came to as an end solution. 

 

I received a discount that was over 30%.  I calculated the expense of all the damaged pieces and said I need this much to even think about keeping it.  I calculated this from used part prices.  It was a range since part prices vary, but I think it turned out okay.  I don't like the scratches, but they ultimately don't hurt my application.  I will tidy the scratched covers and fins on the cylinder head a little.
