She complained that I am getting fat!

Wife has been complaining that I don’t exert myself enough and my belly is getting too big. To make her happy I decided to regress over 30 years and mow lawn with old faithful. First time it nearly killed me but I am now beginning to like it.

We don't have a bagger here but we use a nearly identical Snapper push mower.

We also don't have anything to do with the size of your yard. In fact, we use a weed wacker to take care of most of the growth around here.

That said, I wouldn't have it any other way right now. I like being able to burn a calorie or two here and there.

Nice work Caz.

Man, look at that old Briggsy! :banana-linedance:I was hoping for one of those wind up starter models. Whoever thought of that is prolly wearing concrete galoshes at the bottom of the Hudson. I do have a push mower. I bet it weighs as much as your bag empty! :)

It has to be one of the best mowers ever made. 37 years old, starts on first pull every time, great traction it actually has a working differential. Great bag design it actually takes a lot of grass before emptying it. The fuller the bag the better the traction since its a rear wheel drive. The Briggs carburetor/tank/automatic choke system works flawlessly. One of the best things I ever bought. Been trying to get a NOS front wheel swivel kit but they don't show up often. Looks like this year this is going to be it if my knees or my heart don't give up.

She wouldn't be happy with that.:angry-tappingfoot: It would defeat the purpose.:angry-nono: Its part of the big secret of a successful marriage.:bow-blue: Keeping her happy.:D. Plus it does not remind her of tractors.:hide: More happiness all around.:banana-guitar:

Fortunately I'm not in that position. I'm in good shape for the shape I'm in. :handgestures-thumbup:

I can't believe you caved to her wishes. You are setting absolutely the worst possible example for the rest of us. :angry-nono::bitch::handgestures-thumbdown:

Actually I've been thinking of getting an old Lawnboy running to dethatch the lawn with. Probably have to set up a couple of rest areas so I don't kill myself on the trial run.

Exactly. We've been married 54 years by both of us compromising when necessary or diverting attention from something we don't want highlighted. Like number of tractors in the garage, and shed,  and covered with tarps, etc.

Nothing like the voice of experience. No substitute for that.

We may need a before and after Sunday side shot of that belly just to make sure you stay the course.     :handgestures-thumbup:     By the way, nice vintage mower.

We can do that.  However, it’s going to take quite a few Sunday’s to notice a difference.

I used to have a Snapper just like yours. I wish I still had it because it was the BEST mower I have ever had!

I think you would lose weight faster if you were taking the lawn mower for a walk...rather then the other way around.  :occasion-xmas:
