76c12091520h 3,605 #1 Posted May 16, 2020 Does anyone know what all the different applications were for these seats ? And what is the deciding factor on whether they are red or black or was it just what was available as they went down the line? Thanks guys.
rjg854 11,299 #2 Posted May 16, 2020 No, haven't the foggiest but I sure wish I could find one for the C-160 I just got.
Herder 2,354 #4 Posted May 16, 2020 I have seen them on GT-14's and early 70's C & D series. I can't say I'm a big fan of this style seat and have replaced them. I probably have a few laying around.

I like the one that's on my C-160, which came off of my GT-14. Not sure if the pans were different between the two models, but even adjusted as far back as it will go, it is still way too far forward. I need to build a set of brackets to space it back some more. I like it fine other than that.

I took the springs out and replaced them with pieces of 2" square tubing. Drilled holes in the tubing to set my seat 2" + further back than stock. It's about right for my "not small" self. 1
squonk 40,913 #10 Posted May 16, 2020 Never been a fan of them. In general didn't like the seat just plopped down on the fender. I've changed all of my seats to spring mounted except for HHHOOOWWWAAARRRDDD!!!
