I like that. Depends how many you have or plan to get. Also what kid of space you have in your house available for it. I have a lot of similar stuff but space here is at a premium specially floor space. Many are in my office in small bookcases around the ceiling. They always look best when in small spaces made to fit them.

Super cool little tractors!!

Couple things in particular come to mind.

Be conscious of future dusting. Keep them in a small space as Caz stated or get proper sized clear cases.

For decoration or theme display check model railroading supplies and websites.

There is a BUNCH of ideas for trains and their surroundings.

Figure out the right scale and set something up...

I got a bunch of them. Across the piano, on shelves, some in a big lead glass case. Most have a little Bongo monkey sitting on them. Garden tractor promo's and banks.  Bunch of pressed steel trucks ect..

I collect 1/64th scale IH. A 4 tier shelf on top of our hutch holds about 50 of them. Plastic totes in our spare room hold about another 150 of them. The ones in the totes are still in their original packaging. Some day I wish to add an enclosed cabinet to a wall to display all of them.

I actually also have a good number of Texaco planes which are not on display. Been planning to set something up to hang them from ceiling in my office. Ceiling space is also slowly disappearing.

ok it does say other scale models above,  not trying off topic, I build 1/48 airplanes, since I was 10, I used to do alot of custom builds for people.  my old house, the basement ceiling was loaded with cool old 50's aurora model planes,  now they are boxed.

I do have all these on display that I built in the new house.

This is way above the “wood guy’s” capabilities. I am reminded of it every time I look at it and that is everyday. :bow-blue:

I've a collection of Land Rovers. Not all the same scale. Same very small and some quite big, with some in between.

Sorry they're not very well displayed. I did have all three of the shelves, but someone had other ideas. The big ones are stored in their boxes in the workshop loft.

I keep most of them in their boxes for two reasons. (1) Saves a lot of dusting and aggravation. (2) One day when I'm gone, they'll be worth more to the eldest grandson. If and when he wants to sell them.

I go to a lot of farm toy auctions around here. As of now anyway, the boxes don't seem to mean anything to anyone unless it's something awfully rare. Here's a few of mine. So dark here now because of the storms I'll take more with better lighting.

Jerry got here earlier with the 100 and the Super M-TA, and he brought a couple more with him. One was a newer 4x4 Case IH, wasnt interested in it but I did buy the 1066 he had.

Found them a temporary home above the cabinets in the kitchen...that will work for a bit until I run out of room. Which may not take long at the rate I'm going. Still have the two coming I ordered last night. And ordered two more tonight, a Farmall B and John Deere R.

The R is actually for Rodger for his birthday coming up, he wants a scale model of every tractor he owns, and the R was the only one he didn't have

@HandyProfessor BE Careful! I’m fairly sure that this can be even more addictive than collecting :wh:‘s😁😁😁

My Uncle Roger has a massive collection of 1/16 and 1/64 scale tractors.  Most of them are Case or IH or both but he has some others as well.  Unfortunately, most of his are tucked neatly away in totes.  He has one display cabinet in his house that houses some of them though.

I have a handful of toy tractors that I bought as an adult for the kids, some for myself, and some that my parents bought me years ago.

Those are in various areas around the house and shop.

This is part of my CC model collection.

However, my real passion for scale models was the ERTL “American Muscle” series.  They came out with the very first one (an orange 1970 429 Boss Mustang) in about 1989/90.  We had just finished a remodel of my bedroom and since I rarely met a musclecar that I didn’t like, my parents bought me the Boss to display.  Then ERTL produced more and more people bought them for me.  Before I knew it, I had nearly 100 and no place to put them.

I built this car display cabinet for a state school competition when I was 15 years old.  It was in my room at home and then in my room after Kelli and I got married until about two years ago.  We finished the rec room in the shed where it now resides.

Someday, my plan is to build plexiglas cases for this wall and display more of mine in by the Goat.

Ideas for display, I echo the sentiments of Eric. My dad has these plexiglas 12 slot closed display cases for his cars and they work great!!! Easy to clean, keeps the models clean, and it almost looks like the cars are floating in mid air!  I’ll see if I can get a few shots for you and post them up here.

Great thread!  I know we have a bunch of model hobbyists on this site and I hope they check in with pics of what they have...
