pto lever arm spring

last week there was a new member that was having a problem , with his pto lever staying engaged, basic answer was adjust the trunnion on lever rod. the real answer was probably the lever rod return spring , that attaches to the rod with a cotter pin and mounts near the side of the lower battery tray / fuse block area. if that spring is broken or comes off its pull point , your pto lever will not hold down in use. the spring pulls 2 ways , when   you push it forward to engage , the spring holds it there , when you pull the lever back the spring follows the cam action on the lever to bring it back up vertical. worth a check  if you are having a pto lever issue , pete
