John2189 445 #1 Posted May 11, 2020 (edited) Hi can someone identify the model of this tractor? It has a Tecumseh HH120 motor and a 42” sickle mower. The coil is bad, no spark. Who knows when it was last run. There are no decals or I’d plate. Just serial number on sickle. Thank. stevasaurus 22,707 #2 Posted May 11, 2020 I'm going to guess it is a 1967 or 1968 tractor that someone put a Tecumseh in. It's hard to tell, but it does appear to have a hi/low range shifter, so could be a 10 pinion LS trans. It does not have running boards, and the throttle and choke are pull not lever. 3 spoke steering wheel. Share this post Link to post Share on other sites
John2189 445 #3 Posted May 11, 2020 (edited) Tecumseh looks original but not sure. I looked closer and it does have painted over wheel horse decals on the hood and back of the fender. stevasaurus 22,707 #4 Posted May 11, 2020 The 1st HH-120 is on a 1974 C-120. The lack of running boards bothers me with that, and that year would have levers for choke and throttle. On the other side...who would re-power with a Tecumseh?? Measuring the length of the frame would go a long way to help identify. 67 and 68 had short frames and mid length...the "C"s would be the long frame. Take some paint acetone and gently rub the paint off on those decals. Wood color would be 66...etc. BTW...Welcome to Red Square. edit......I missed this and GWest found it...1970 was the 1st year for the HH-120. Correct my statement above. Couldn't tell in the picture if there was a second shifter. If you can find a model number...1-4631 or 1-4831 would be the 68 Commando. Look for a painted over decal just under the dash panel.
