3WHDave 60 #1 Posted May 10, 2020 This is a re-post from another topic, "restoration", but I am desperate... Good news/bad news… The engine fired-up, a few coughs, but it sputtered to life! Bad news, no Motion! I checked to oil levels (engine and rear hydro-static tank) and both were up to level. I went onto the Redhorse chatroom and began reading. It was at that point which I realized that the “PUSH VALVE” was open. I pushed the unit out of the garage, closed the valve and started it, expected to be performing figure eights in the drive, no such luck. The hydraulics on the three-point hitch are very responsive, but no tractor motion. I went into the chatroom and found many good references by which to diagnose the issue. I write because I have serious question about the shift linkage and proper function. To be clear, my unit is a D-0180, no parking brake on front panel, three shift slots on the right panel (park, forward and revers). What are the basics I may be overlooking before ripping out the hydraulic pump?
gwest_ca-(File Mod) 11,096 #2 Posted May 11, 2020 There is some D-Auto service info in this manual. Click on the picture to see what is in each section. Quite a large file. The Sundstrand service manual Garry
3WHDave 60 #3 Posted May 11, 2020 Thank you Gary! I downloaded all and will have iPad in hand when I approach the machine. However, jumping to the worst-end, and relatively speaking, how easy is it to rebuild the pump properly? I know I can remove, dissemble and reassemble, but what are the major land-mines typical to the first time rebuild? Example, in hydraulic and pneumatic cylinder rebuild, its the o-ring and seal installation, very easy to nick or damage during placement. Any such traps? Again, thanks! My next move is to change the hydrostatic filter (oil filter), drain the system and refill. On that note, I was amazed at how little oil came out during the first draining and how little it took to fill it. It was nowhere near the 5 qts stayed in the manual. Trouty56 567 #4 Posted May 11, 2020 maybe remove the right panel below the battery to be sure the cam on the side of the pump is moving. The D has a crazy linkage for the forward reverse....
