Goldnboy 942 #1 Posted May 10, 2020 When pulling the Transmission from transaxle will I need one or two gaskets? I ask because from experience with the gasket so thin and wear sometimes two are needed. The picture shows the hose to hydraulic valve removed and newspaper below the front line to verify it isn't leaking. Thus narrowed it down to the pump to axle gasket. This will be my first time removing a eaton transmission.
stevasaurus 22,863 #2 Posted May 10, 2020 Here is the Eaton 1100 manual...check out page 18. Says early models use 2 gaskets.
Goldnboy 942 #3 Posted May 10, 2020 This is on a GT1848 . The serial # is missing but I believe is an 1984 model due to hydraulic valve like the 416 and 520.
stevasaurus 22,863 #4 Posted May 10, 2020 The book should work...are you saying you don't have the Eaton 1100-032?? Looks like the GT-1848 was either 1982 or 1983. 1982 was Model # A1-1848 01 1982 model # D1-1848 01 Both used the 1100-032 Eaton.
squonk 41,328 #5 Posted May 10, 2020 It takes only 1 gasket. I had one where the pump was so stuck I had to take the whole trans right out to get it apart
