That is so cool! @Anthony Wendover How in the world did you spot that billboard, it was only on the screen for a couple of seconds! :handgestures-thumbupright:

Thanks for that. Nice to see that Wilkesboro will live on. One of the originals. Always sad to remember the glory days of NASCAR long gone - real cars and guys tooling in their own garages...

I've been enjoying Iracing on tv since they shut the real thing down. It's absolutely amazing what they are doing with the technology. The detail is mind-blowing. Thanks for posting the video. The race is today at 3:00 eastern. Fox and Fox Sports 1. :)

I have been watching the "I racing" on TV and love it. Dale Jr has a program on NBC-Sports called Dale Jr. Download and he was talking about doing the North Wilkesboro track about a year ago. Too bad Jr. Johnson didn't live to see his home track brought back to virtual life. I have also been recording and watching a bunch of vintage NASCAR races lately, many of them I had attended in the '80s and '90s.

I didn’t see it in any real life clips, only the recreation...  but seriously... who’s going?

haha thought you guys would get a kick out of that! So the sign isnt there any more in real life :( The graphics for the track are based on the 1987 season race there. Here is a picture of the billboard in real life from 1987. ( i had to screen cap a race replay so sadly its bury )

Wheel Horse had been involved with NASCAR for several years. They sponsored the Pole Sitter award for several races including the 1992 Mellow Yellow 500 at the Charlotte Motor Speedway  where Alan Kulwicki won a new 416-8 Wheel Horse.

WHX??

Stupid question here why did they ever quit racing there and just abandon it? Seems a shame given what it once was.

@953 nut

Wow i did not know that Alan Kulwicki fact! Thats pretty cool! Can you post a better picture of that? Would love to see it closer and try to make out the track. Kinda looks like Charlotte but i cant fully tell..

@WHX24

The track was purchased by Bruton Smith. He wanted to have a Nascar race at his new track in Texas. Nascar would not add exrta races to the schedule. So he purchased North Wilkesboro and moved one date to Texas and then the other date was moved to New Hampshire for a second race at the track.

Terry Dennis did a great job on both the 2018 and the 2019 Red Square posters!

A great remembrance of the good friends and good times!
