The 1973 12 auto that I used as a youth was used to pull cars at Evergreen Speedway here in Drums PA before my Dad bought it used from the local wheel horse dealer in Hazleton PA,in 1974. At that time I believe it was Hazle Penn Oil and Brake . Anyway I wish I had pics of it, not quite Indy but still a racing history. Lotsa memories with that machine. Gene_S 93 #4 Posted May 5, 2009 Thanks oldandred for posting that picture!!! That picture is one of the best reasons for having a "500 Special"... Plus in that picture you can see there is not a number 6 above the checkered flags and that is how my 500 special was when I got it. I was told the early ones did not have the 6 there.
