lynnmor 7,354 #2 Posted May 5, 2020 A photo would help. You should describe the leak better, is it at the top center or at the back end?
stevasaurus 22,865 #3 Posted May 5, 2020 Welcome to Red Square. Anything you can tell us will help...pictures for sure...we do have the members to help you either fix it, or re-build. Do you have the model number or year of the horse??
pfrederi 17,875 #4 Posted May 5, 2020 There is a hose from the back of the hydro pump that goes to the implement lift valve. Did it fail???
Edwin79 1 #5 Posted May 9, 2020 (edited) ok sorry i didnt not make it clear. It poped from the bottom center of the trans. It is an electro 12 full hydrolic model its a 1969 with hydrolic deck lift also. it currently has a 16 horse and runs beauty. everything was fine before the pop lost all hydro fluid. no the implement lift valve was not an issue it is dead center of the bottom of the trans I will post pics soon Edited May 9, 2020 by Edwin79
pfrederi 17,875 #6 Posted May 9, 2020 The pop was probably a differential bolt that broke got loose and then caught under the bull gear and broke a hole in the bottom of your Transaxle housing....Sorry...
R. L. Addison 299 #7 Posted May 9, 2020 It would be my thinks that one of the 5/16 tie bolts that hold the differential together has broken and gotten under the bull gear and punched a hole in the bottom of the casting. This was not really uncommon among pre '75 or '76 tractors with the bigger engines that were used under heavy load conditions such as loaders. this happened to my '74 C160 within a year after I bought it new. It also happened to my 1075 and the case got broken on it, so I knew to shut down the C160 before I broke the case. There is a service bulletin on this problem. Braze the case or replace as needed, drill bullgear & hubs for 3/8 bolts (grade 8) & problem solved.
