How To Remove Bearings

Recommended Posts

71_Bronco

Have a new set of bearings coming for my gear-drive deck I'm working on. Everything should be pretty straight-forward, except for one piece.

On the triple-groove pulley that connects the "PTO belt" to the double drive belt, there is a pair of bearings with a spacer between them (part diagram below).

I have the pulley off, but have not looked inside. I'm hoping that the ID of the spacer (part 54) is larger than the ID of the bearing, allowing me to pull or push the outter bearings (part 53).

Had anybody worked on this part before?

Thanks!

Got the bearings out tonight. The sleeve spacer (part number 54) does have the same ID as the bearings.

However, the OD of the space is smaller than the ID of the pulley. This means that once the bolt is out (part number 55), the spacer can slide side-to-side. Just have to push the sleeve over a little and slide a punch in.

Just have to wait for my box-o-bearings to come in now :D
