Does your supplier have a freakin' warehouse full of these things, or are you just going after the rest of the 10? Wow!!!!!! Duff :omg:
rickv1957 72 #55 Posted May 15, 2009 AS I am just after the remaining NOS 4 tractors,NOS attachments and the parts inventory, this take a lot of effort, money and the love for these ol horses, still have two more deals to come after this!,Rick
dkopp 1 #56 Posted May 15, 2009 rickv1957...Where on earth did you get those NOS tractors? I see that your from the Lake of the Ozarks area in MO. I'm only about 4 hours from you in the SE corner of the state. I would have thought that a find like this would be found somewhere in Indiana or Ohio. Can you spill the beans on the whereabouts, or is there more gold to be found?
tgranthamfd 29 #57 Posted May 16, 2009 Have you gotten any more of those beautiful Horses put together yet?? :omg:

HorseFixer 2,012 #59 Posted May 17, 2009 Yep Erick said it best when he said you are one lucky B-S-T-RD Geesh!! Nice score!! In a couple years you will prolly sell everything and get out of the hobby cause how in the hell ya gonna top that???? Its kinda like finding the holy grail!
rickv1957 72 #60 Posted May 17, 2009 I dont think I will sell out anytime soon as I am adding a shelf on across the back side of my shop, should hold about 9 tractors, and yes I got lucky on this find. Rick
Horse Fanatic 49 #61 Posted May 17, 2009 Can't wait to see more photos. Fascinating story, the coolest find imaginable!
rickv1957 72 #62 Posted May 22, 2009 What do you guys think, should I put these tractors up and store as is or place them in running condition,it sure is tempting to hear them run, opinions? Hope to make the big show this year with a few, thanks Rick
Just Piddling 0 #63 Posted May 22, 2009 I don't know. I had wondered the same thing when I saw the first 3 assembled. IMO- I think it would be great to see all those horses assembled in their showroom condition. If your looking at it for an investment, they may be worth more crated, but what fun is that. :omg:
Confused99 2 #64 Posted May 22, 2009 If they were mine, I would leave them as is never started. Either way, they are some very cool machines. Jason
bitten 134 #65 Posted May 22, 2009 Rick That is a tough question(one I would like to have to think about). In there shipping state they probly are not to much to look at, and diffantly the joy factor is lower. For resale purposes one would think in the crate would bring more money as it would be hard to fool someone they are new and not a really good restoration job. If you put them together for show purpose your enjoyment level would go thru the roof( mine would anyways). You might not get the top doller for them at resale but would still think that the money would be good. What ever you decide what to do I'm sure that you will have a blast with them. Cant wait to see more pictures of them. P.J.
Michael Bullington 5 #66 Posted May 22, 2009 wow thats so tough... I know I would have to put them together. ...( knowing me I would save all the wood pieces)..maybe save one or two tractors still in the crate just to display....But I dont think I would start them....That would definately keep the dollar value better. :omg:
Operator 7 #67 Posted May 22, 2009 Just wondering , are you doing it to sell them later? How about before starting them add [without drilling] an hour meter under the hood somewhere? Kind of depends if your doing it for money or just the pleasure of having a big herd of special tractors. Randy
HorseFixer 2,012 #68 Posted May 22, 2009 I had allways thought about putting a fully restored tractor inside a lexan sealed case. Of course in you case a new tractor inside the case. This would keep fingers off the paint job. Maybe you could use the crate wood as reinforcement along the edges of the case and the lexan to seal out the dust and keeping people from touching it. I would deffinatley have them on display filled with oil and unstarted. Make sure sure the engine has good lubrication in there Im thinking of the perfect lube its on the tip of my tounge anyways I woulod keep at least half unrun. d180man 5 #69 Posted May 22, 2009 Hi if it was me rick i would just keep oil in them ! and keep them put up!! you have more that you can run ! but that just what i would do!
hodge 6 #70 Posted May 23, 2009 wow thats so tough... I know I would have to put them together. ...( knowing me I would save all the wood pieces)..maybe save one or two tractors still in the crate just to display....But I dont think I would start them....That would definately keep the dollar value better. As rare as this find is, I doubt if either being in crates or being started up and run momentarily would diminish the value at all. Most anybody who loves Horses would scarf one up either way. You may be here today and gone tomorrow- enjoy them in whatever way you see fit, Rick. I myself would get the most enjoyment out of them by having the (never again) chance of firing up a brand new WH. It's almost like stepping back in time. OR... given the number of awesome tractors you have in your photo, you could share one with each person who has taken the time to answer this post... :omg:
bo dawg 516 #71 Posted May 24, 2009 WOW! This question is tuff. I close my eyes and picture myself in this situation. I guess I would have to uncrate and put them together and at the least enjoy looking at, sitting on, touching and just flat out loving on them. Then I may have to take the favorite one and fire up and go for rides. But thats me. Good luck with the decision.
Banjo 0 #72 Posted May 24, 2009 Man, what a find!!! I probably would have peed my pants if I found something like that. Glad to see they went to someone who appreciates good machines!!! I'll bet everyone who tried to buy those BEFORE Rick...DID pee their pants, and got thrown out of the garage before a deal was reached! LOL If I ever come across one of these deals, DIAPERS should be worn at all times.
Horse Fanatic 49 #73 Posted May 24, 2009 I would uncrate them so you can look at them, but don't put gas in them and don't start them. That way they can still be considered NOS.
Rod(NASNUT) 1 #74 Posted May 24, 2009 What good are they if you can't play with them. Ride them and have fun with them. That is what I would do.
