Muffduster 0 #1 Posted May 3, 2020 Excited to be a member here. My 1980 C-165 needs a new deck drive belt. The one on there is a Gates A100, which is 102” according to Gates. It’s been on there since 2011 or 2010. I believe these call for a 103” belt, which is a Gates 101. Since I’ve been running a 1” too short belt for years with great performance, should I stick with a 102” belt? I imagine worn parts probably makes the 102” work fine. I’m worried a 103” might have slop and not grab as well. Thoughts?

Lee1977 6,648 #5 Posted May 6, 2020 I can run a 102 blue belt from Tractor Supply on my 312-8 with a 42" deck. Tried it on the 520-H with a 48" deck it was too short couldn't get it on. The reason I tried it on the 520-H was the 102 was on the mule drive I wanted to use on the 520.
