From the old days of working in NYC not that I used but others were using them in the same location. Weighs about 25LBS.

this one is actually missing a bit off one end which I cut needing it for something.

Lead block for when punching out holes in gaskets, leather etc Best guess I can come up with.

Though with the groove and angled edge I suspect I'm wrong.

My guess:

Lead wall liner for radioactive containment room.   I’ve seen similar bricks used in hospitals for X-ray suites.

OK, how close am I?

Cheers!

Right on. Lead interlocking bricks used in hospitals X-ray suites. Used to do a lot of work in hospitals furnishing and installing lead lined doors so these were around from building the walls.

They use sheets of lead now. Almost like drywall. In MRI suites they perforate the sheet where the ductwork passes through. Guess where all junk the magnet attracts ends up in the return duct? :)

Door stop...boat anchor...down rigger weight...pre-historic leggos...snap line holder...shielding for X-Rays...paper weight...something to have when you need 25 lbs...a good way to store your lead.  and last but not least...Christmas presents for kids you don't like.  :occasion-xmas:

One or more of those has got to be correct.  :banana-linedance:
