Pullstart 62,862 #1 Posted May 3, 2020 So the last two weekends, I ran down to the Indiana border for “Rebel” our new 953, then a GT-14 for my friends with enough spares to piece one together for myself. Thursday or Friday, the seller emailed me that he had a 1054 that he’d like me to have first dibs on. He gave me a price and asked if he could deliver it too! I’m tickled pink! this came with a running engine from a 1076 and I’m considering whether I should use it, or the 16 horse Kohler thumper that I plan on using from “Chief” When I disassemble him. 4 10

953 nut 55,226 #9 Posted May 3, 2020 Kevin, you are so fortunate to have such an understanding wife and so much storage space. That is a great looking haul and you didn't have to break quarantine to get it. 1

I’m a lucky man indeed and would not have landed this deal if not for running it across her! I may have lined up a few more deals than I realized last year about this time and was reminded that though it’s easier to beg forgiveness than ask permission... it’s not always the smartest route to travel in a marriage! Now, it’s time to start planning a little thinning of the herd and time to also plan a trip of a C100 from Hiram, ME to Middleville, MI! 1
Pullstart 62,862 #11 Posted May 10, 2020 So even though this project has gone nowhere, I know what it’s plan is! Lots of weight! And a Front End Loader! Maybe some tire chains off my plow truck too! since there are no hydraulic provisions on this machine, adding a FEL with it’s own hydraulics will take care of that problem. 2
Pullstart 62,862 #12 Posted May 11, 2020 I have found quite a few 1054 / Loader threads to poke and prod about... I figured I’d catalog them here for future reference... Herder’s 1054 / Johnson Loader DealNDan left us hanging with his Loader / 3 point combo. I have a couple extra GT14 top link brackets, maybe one’ll find it’s way onto my 1054. This ARK500 rebuild is awesome stuff! Hopefully it’ll be finished before too long.
Pullstart 62,862 #13 Posted May 16, 2020 I saw in action today a Bobcat 873. The way the loader arms cantilevered were pretty impressive! Would that be manageable on a tractor I wonder?

Tractorhead 9,064 #15 Posted May 16, 2020 Could be a bit Tricky even with the Tyreload, because thats a heavy 3,3To. Beast that can Lift bit over a To. It have a max. liftheight of 2,46m where my Beast have only 2,36m But lift with my Beast over 100Kilos in that height needs fine movements on Hydraulic levers and no slope it‘s weight Lift balance is better because of no Swingaxle in the Front, so much more stability is given. I see not much sense on a Tractor, because the whole weight balance raises quick in height. So a Roll Over can be done much quicker than with a normal FEL with the Same load in the Bucket, except you work with a dang heavy Counterweight rear deep to the Ground. Than the Rearaxle restricts the Load of the System.

Can't see myself crawling over the hood to get into the seat, But you are much younger and a good deal more agile than me.
Pullstart 62,862 #17 Posted May 17, 2020 It wouldn’t be a total Bobcat Richard... just use some technology in loader geometry
Pullstart 62,862 #18 Posted May 27, 2020 Well, the 1054 Loader will happen. Thanks Duke! 2 2

Pullstart 62,862 #21 Posted June 10, 2020 An unbelievable act of kindness... @BOB ELLISON sent me a Patriotic 1054 seat! The vinyl came from @953 nut a few years back and he deferred the seat so Bob contacted me. What an amazing piece! I planned to finish this FEL build with a complete repaint. I suppose some blue will join that awesome belt guard’s white accents... with likely a set of patriotism decals I told Rylee about the package on the way this week, she said “Those people are just nice dudes!” I can’t think of a better way to put it. If you haven’t heard, RedSquare is the best place ever on the net, and in reality the members just plain ROCK! 1
