Sam Pasch 449 #1 Posted May 1, 2020 I have a short frame 867 that I am looking to get a snow plow for. I am having trouble finding one for a short frame in my area. Would it work to get a long frame plow and cut it down shorter? Also, what would be a reasonable price? Thanks, Sam
ebinmaine 67,309 #2 Posted May 1, 2020 No need to cut it Sam. Trina uses along frame plow on her 867 and it works perfectly fine.
Ed Kennell 38,028 #3 Posted May 1, 2020 Average price for plows and frames are $150 in my area. Axle brackets are $30-$50.
gwest_ca-(File Mod) 11,033 #4 Posted May 1, 2020 Here is a list of the dozer blades. Notice in 1968 the long frame tractor dozers will also fit the short frame models by moving the rear crossbar ahead about 6 inches. When that happened the rear axle hitch was moved to under the rear axle instead of in front of it. Sam Pasch 449 #5 Posted May 1, 2020 Thanks for the info guys. I plan on making my own mounting brackets so that's some money saved. Does a long frame plow stick out much further in the front?
stevasaurus 22,711 #6 Posted May 1, 2020 @Sam Pasch Get in touch with Smokin" Joe in Polo, Ill...I'm almost positive he would have what you need. 815-590-7395 He used to live in Lanark. Mention my name. The long frame is about 4" longer then the short. Get the short frame...the fulcrum is in the right place.
