$20 worth of beer in my belly

That would be 30 cans of my Old Mill.   A case lasts me a month....in fact i'm on my beer break right now.   I'm on the one a day plan.

Unless i'm crabbing....then it's 3-4 a day.

I've cut way down too... in spite of my love for a good luke-warm Lager.  Had to unfortunately.  But, now I'm skinny like you!  :ychain::beer:

AND, I also tuck in my shirt and wear a belt AND suspenders too!  ;)

Rode my Horse around for awhile in the Wasatch Range…

He wasn’t red, no wheels, and he dropped some roadapples, but did a good job carrying my butt up the mountain…

Actually, usually true… but in this instance that’s my daughter doing what I was doing… action photos on horseback… so I guess I’m a modern day youth…! (Not…)

I'd rather be called youth kid or childish than be accused of being mature

More show prep today! Left work a little early,(since im taking the rest of the week off) ran to the tractor store, picked up a tailight converter, and installed that pigtail on Mrs patriot thats been needing done for a year lol. Then run down to the lab and get the last print before the show going and pack up all the stock, leftovers, filament, tools, paints, acetone computer, etc etc. Then out to the shop to figure out how to adapt another old rotor to a hitching post base, and get another hitching post put together!

Putted around today.  Made a supply run to the big grocery store in the next town over.  Had lunch at a very good BBQ restaurant there.

Started cleaning up and repairing the landscaping around the sceptic lift station tank where I had done a little excitation to get to the tank.  User 2 bags of river rock.  Still needs 2 more.

We had a medium sized oak tree cut down earlier this year.  The trunk is about 10" in diameter.  Got out my 10" B&D battery chain saw and started cutting it into firewood.  The battery pack on that saw is sized about right.  It ran out of juice about the same time as I did.  However, there is still a lot of log waiting to be cut up.

When I was putting the electric saw away, I saw my FIL's old Mac 10-10 A.  It is about a 1970 saw +/- a few years.  It hasn't been run in probably 10 years.  I took it into my shop to see how close to running it is.  It has compression when the rope is pulled.  It did not fire on a shot of carb cleaner into the carb.  Pulled the plug, does not look too bad.   Leaned the spark plug against the head, sparks when the rope is pulled.  Poured a little gas down the carb, pulled the rope several times, and it fired a couple of times.  There is hope.

I'll stop by the NAPA store tomorrow and pick up a new plug, mix up a little fresh gas and try again tomorrow.

Few days of community work.

Cut and cleaned a sitting area o Sunday, then did some work in my local park today, strimming and trimming overgrown paths.

Its amazing that I choose to do work in my spare time that is used as a punishment for community payback. Thing is these knuckle heads are cleaning up stuff their kids have messed up. Lol

Bit if running around this mornin picking up bits and bobs, (umbrella, extra rope, bit of pvc), then replaced cables on Mrs inverter for better clamps, finished packing up lab stuff, and getting printer out of enclosure, and then finished last hitching post for show.

Got to pick up a new coil then gonna try fire her up Kohler KT17 series 2. 95% reason I bought it wanted the engine for a upcoming project. But this thing seems fun might take engine out and put a different 1 in drive this thing around haha. Either way really cool to me at least, love the rear steering!

Got my FIL's Mac 10-10 A saw running.  New plug and fresh gas did the trick.  Tweaked the high speed needle a little as well.

Runs pretty good, but the bar pulls to the left badly.  Most likely a chain or a bar issue.  I'll take a look at that tomorrow.  Muffler needs work, too - I can see it jumping around as the saw runs.

When I put it away in the shed this afternoon, I found the tool box that goes with it hiding in the shadows.  Contains a chain sharpener, spare chains, spare spark plugs, and the original Owner's Pocket Manual.  Purchase date was 1968.  53 years old and still runs.  My FIL used to cut Christmas trees every year with this saw to make some extra income for the holidays.  This saw worked for a living.  Bet the typical box store saw would not be around in 53 years.....

I'd lean towards a good SQUARE even sided sharpening is needed

Yup.  The plan is to check the teeth for uniform size and to check the bar groove for wear.  Knowing some of the saw's history, I won't be surprised if a new bar is in order.

Got a chain oil leak to chase as well - pretty good drip when the saw is just sitting.

This evenings task has been moving furniture for an elderly friend we watch out for. When cleaning my shop the other day I came across a furniture dolly, and using it today to cart these pieces in and out of a highrise, there plenty of thinking time along the long hallways. So my over active imagination drifted back to yesteryear, and realized that this is how cool it musta been when I used my lil red wagon back in the day! A large heavy piece of something that was quite difficult to handle and move on my own, gliding along effortlessly!

Small wonder we still like tractors, carts, FELs and the like!

Next installment on my FIL's Mac 10 -10 A.  Put it on my bench today and took a good look at the chain and bar.  The chain definitely is dull and the bar is showing signs of wear.  Pulled the bar off, cleaned it, and field some burrs off.  Took the spare chain that was much sharper than the one on the saw and tried installing it.  No go.  The spare chain bound up in the groove in the bar.  Dug the spare bar out of the tool box, and found that the spare chain fit that bar nicely.

Put the spare bar and chain on and the saw started barking and biting like I remember it years ago.  Bucked a 16" diameter oak log into firewood lengths like a hot knife through butter.

I strongly suspect the pulling to the left issue is the dull chain.  Going to spend some time with the sharpener jig on that chain.

Cleaned up the groundsmaster 117 before taking it into the operating room. Got new coil coming plugs in and air filter tomorrow. Looks to have full and new oil already in. But gonna drain it and replace it anyways. Tanks dry but gonna take the lines off and replace. Check carb and then go for a test fire. If fires up and runs and drives. We'll that's gonna make it even harder for me to part out. This might not be the most fancy rig out there but dang is it cool. If deck wasn't rotted out I'd keep her all together.
