Mickwhitt 4,592 #1001 Posted November 10, 2020 This is a knife I started 21 years ago. It was for my friend who recently passed away but I moved away from his shift and didnt finish it. I found it in my police kit after his death and decided to finish it for his son. Spent this afternoon making the nickel bolsters and I'll have a look at the handle scales tomorrow. 1
Pullstart 62,795 #1002 Posted November 10, 2020 I was the unfortunate recipient of a phone call today, from a good buddy’s distraught wife. She was a country block away, panicked, balling, speeding in the rain and heading to find her drunk husband somewhere on the side of the road. He’s a (trying) recovering alcoholic and seems to keep thinking just one won’t hurt, once in a while. Well, today a handful of 80 proof shooters on an empty stomach, and he was wiping his mouth from puking expressing that he’s fine, just doesn’t know where he is. We found him a town over, driving in reverse down the road. I had to carry him to the passenger seat. I’m glad I don’t have to carry his casket this week. I drink beer. I have a fun time. I am not violent or belligerent. Please if you’re going to get drunk, get drunk with a plan, if that’s what you do. We arrived at their home just in front of the floral van, delivering her birthday flowers.
PeacemakerJack 10,738 #1003 Posted November 10, 2020 That is a sad story Kevin but I’m glad that you were there to bring him home safely. Thank you for being that much needed “guardian angel” today... Took the old playhouse from our backyard to a good friends house. She had heard that we were eventually going to get rid of it and asked if she could have it for winter “storage” of her beehives. Alas, we took it to her place along with GhostRider and some tow rigging. It probably weighs 1000-1200 lbs but it slid down the metal ramps pretty easy. You can see her “hives” in the background behind the playhouse. The boys helped me get it unloaded and set in its new place. Caleb wasn’t to keen on being around those bees. I told him not to worry about them—black wasps, hornets, yellowjackets—now that’s another story! She was happy to get this 25 year old play house and we were happy that someone can still use it👍🏻 2
WHX?? 48,781 #1004 Posted November 11, 2020 Sorry to hear about your bud Kev. I had a bro who was pretty much headed down the same road. Fortunately and hopefully we finally got him on him on the strait and narrow. It was not easy and alot of eggshells and abstinence around him but things are looking good. Now if I could just put away the gaggers.. Now Dan and I ... git us at a show with our campers and we got a good plan. I dunno Jack... that playhouse looks like a magic parts shed in the making.... dibs you got any more!

R Scheer 502 #1006 Posted November 11, 2020 Continued puttering around with the air compressor. Family lore says the pump started life in a 1920 White Freightliner as the air brake compressor, I believe I'm the third generation owner. Figured for it's 100th birthday New electrics Update the hi pressure side with new paint, new black iron piping, overpressure valve, working pressure gauge, and filter/regulator/lubricator New air filter Oil change This is a water cooled head, used to be connected to the trucks rad. I added copper pipe to act as a rad, but it wasn't enough so I'll be adding 9' of piping to act as a belt guard and rad. I heard a romour that pictures are required so... Hopefully finish it before long.

For you Uncle Jim, i’ll Come on over and build one to your specs👍🏻 Methinks that you would need a magic shed a little bit larger than that one🤔😁. Let me know when you are ready to frame something up and we will be on our way...hopefully not until the weather is better🤞🏻
formariz 11,987 #1008 Posted November 11, 2020 Now that I have all kinds of time started to tighten up the thousand started projects around here. Changed the old picket fence to something a little more cheerful letting light through and looking a little more rural. Added a few more decorations to the shed as requested by wife( she now refers to it as the she shed), a vintage training oxen yoke and a copper weather vane horse above door. Painted my rain water barrels in camouflage since they stood out like sore thumbs in white. She also requested that I put another RJ out as a decoration to which I promptly complied. Go figure, after all these years she finally has taken a liking to the little guys. If this keeps up I am going to run out of RJs. 5

Super cool little project!! @PeacemakerJack I noticed you didn't state you'd build it for nothing so you could potentially base the labor rate on man-hours X temperature favoring a higher multiplication per lower degrees. Too cold? Too expensive. @formariz I was thinking for a minute there that your wife's new name for the shed could potentially be bad and cost you space in that location but then you mentioned her desire for multiple RJ displays. I feel like that could wash each other out. LOVE the fence. Nice to have the time to address all those projects, eh?

Too cold? Too expensive. 😂—I’m pretty sure that Jim knows if he supplies materials to frame up a “majic shed” that I’d be there to supply the labor without dropping off an invoice. I can’t hardly enter my shed from now until April without being thankful for the the heat system that he set up for me👍🏻 I do however, totally understand what you are saying about cost multiplication when dealing with the winter cold!!!! This will be the first winter in over 20 years where I don’t have a “planned (contracted)” house to frame. I am bidding several interior projects which is just fine with me👏🏻 3
Pullstart 62,795 #1011 Posted November 11, 2020 I have my friend’s truck here, so he is safe to others at least. He did however walk out of the house without his wife knowing and came back by a neighbor’s ride seemingly worse than before. Thank you for your thoughts on the matter, this will be a time of tough love I’m afraid. On a positive(ish?) note, we took Joe on a short tractor ride this morning. He was missing a bit here and there at the plow day then started smoking more and more. This morning, it stalled just after firing up, then I cleaned the plug and got it fired up. After just a couple minutes of rough running, it died again. I think we finally killed the measly snowblower engine. Time for a bigger thumper!

Pullstart 62,795 #1015 Posted November 14, 2020 Yesterday, we finally winterized the pool and covered it, I made a wise decision to snag an RJ35 and new 450 Bushmaster rifle, then sighted it in. I feel like I’m missing something or three. Today, moving stuff around in the shop, making room for winter storage, making plans for the future. That sounds sophisticated! In all reality, I miss my ‘99 Chevy 4WD and ‘69 Chevy C10 and the Jeep and buggy, plus have Norman, so there’s no real reason to have a brand new truck with payments. Mrs. P agrees, I fix up the old stuff, I can sell the new! I picked up my recovering buddy and he apologized for his drunken actions too, which was very big of him to admit. I told him that I’ll carry him home from the bonfire if need be, but if I have to carry his casket I was gonna kill him. He agreed. We cleaned and moved stuff around in the barn and made very big storage progress! 3

I got real heavy into that for a while, but came back to putting around on these tractors... That’s got a Subaru EJ25 engine, bus trans, 3x3 rear suspension, 6” over front, 2-1/4x1 front arms, combo spindles, list goes on and on. I have a couple spare Subaru engines, one of which needs to be swapped in. It developed a knock, apparently I can run a JDM oil pump in place of the stocker just fine 1

Pullstart 62,795 #1023 Posted November 20, 2020 Last night, I tore down the short piece of racking, then installed a taller upright. Tonight, organizing and installing another section, with the short upright. I may run into interference issues between the buggy and Norman’s rack. If so, I’ll figure out another spot for the rack. I haven’t seen the back wall in close to a year! My mother is separated from her husband and needed some storage space. It’ll be good to be able to access the RJ stuff, I have an 11 year old bugging me to let her start the build!
Achto 27,505 #1024 Posted November 22, 2020 I started repairs on my truck today. It's getting a set of reman heads, along with a few other repairs while it is down. Most of today was tear apart, hopefully tomorrow will be a put together day. 2
