After plowing we set to doing other stuffs. Trina's been working on the door at the bottom of the basement stairs. I've helped a bit here n there. That's all in and working well. 20250209_122014~2.mp4 I pulled the spark plug out of the Ariens walk behind snowblower. It's dark and ugly. It definitely has a working spark circuit. It'll make orange ish sparks while laying on the engine sheet metal. I've seen a few plugs that would make sparks outside of the combustion chamber and not work under pressure. Step one there will be getting a new plug. Maybe tomorrow.

ebinmaine 69,705 #7679 Posted February 10 I stopped by the small engine repair guy on the way home. Rick was behind the counter when I walked in. I gave him the old spark plug. He looks at it and he goes, Haha! The old Torch plug! These things are juuust junk. I have no idea how many of these I've replaced. Famous for making sparks outside of the engine but not in it.... I picked up a couple NGKs for the Ariens. Popped one in when I got home. No fuel in the system so it took 2 attempts to start with 2 priming cycles. Roared right to life! So that's cool.... 1
MainelyWheelhorse 765 #7680 Posted February 11 Today, My father and I got the spare M12 I got from @ebinmaine to fire and run for a minute. I’m going to see what I can do about it running longer tomorrow after work. Then I got asked to help provide coverage at work for a few hours. Now I’m just relaxing and planning what to do this week, I do have some parts coming Wednesday though…maybe. My extra M12.
ebinmaine 69,705 #7681 Posted February 13 Got a little more moving and organizing done in the new workshop. I moved a 4' pegboard and replaced it with the 3' bin shelf. That left a space. I closed the gap between the metal shelves. Had to empty some of the shelves to do so. There will be two more large metal shelves going in just to the right of these. The small shelf with the bins is by the back door. They occupy 15 ft of wall space altogether. The rest of the 40 ft wall will be pegboard. Also reworked the bin stacks so they're more user friendly.
MainelyWheelhorse 765 #7682 Posted February 13 (edited) So far, today I plumbed in the 312 tank I put on my 308 in, and tested it. No leaks so far. After trying out my snowmobile, I tested the new tank by plowing the driveway. Edited Friday at 02:35 AM by MainelyWheelhorse
ebinmaine 69,705 #7683 Posted Friday at 12:28 AM Trina has the basement door and frame all built, filled in, and painted. I helped just a bit. Mostly her efforts.
ebinmaine 69,705 #7684 Posted Sunday at 12:05 AM Trina's Momma has had a long-time dream to have a light gray kitchen. To the best of Trina's knowledge, her mom has NEVER redecorated her living space. In any place. EVER... Sooooooo... They met downtown this morning. The Momma chose the grey. Trina came back and painted one wall. 3
ebinmaine 69,705 #7685 Posted Sunday at 12:47 AM These shelves were removed from the basement workshop space a couple weeks ago. We got them rebuilt out in the new workshop space this afternoon. Also got this door handle rebuilt and modified.
ebinmaine 69,705 #7686 Posted Sunday at 11:18 PM Got more work done downstairs and out in the new workshop. The shelves we moved have been all fastened and reinforced. I started filling them today. Also hung the clamp holder on the door. The first pieces of decoration made it up today too. Mack sign on the shelves and my old baseball glove. The white louvered door is now hiding a cute little cabinet at the bottom of the stairs.
8ntruck 7,256 #7687 Posted Monday at 06:12 AM Lots of time with the robotics team lately. As we build, and test sub systems, and combinations of sub systems, we learn more and discover that all is not working as well as we hoped that it would. In the past week or 10 days, we have investigated and modeled in CAD 3 major rearrangements of the robot, finally settling on one. The new arrangement required major redesigns of all of the sub systems. We've been at it tongs and hammers. The chassis redesign came in almost 10 pounds lighter than the original. The climbing system is now operating as we want it. Prototypes of the other systems are also operating well. Fabrication assembly and tuning of the new parts is underway. Initial estimates say we will be a few pounds over maximum weight. More redesigning is underway, but the changes are smaller. Time crunch is on, as our first competition is only 18 days away.

I've gotten drafted into helping a 5th grade Destination Imagination team. Wild on a completely different level! Today my grandson and I hit the hill for some sledding. Not nearly as spry as my younger days, but I did manage a few runs on the Flexible Flyer without breaking anything. Soreness will certainly ensue, however! 2 1

I also tried hard not to miss those "little" opportunities just like that and paid the price. But I'd still do it over again in a heartbeat. 1
