What did you do today?

 Couple of days ago found some boards and put them through the saw bench to make strips for the arch. So that's finished.

 

Builders merchants are open now, so ripped the old knackered roof of the lean too I keep my Saxon trailer, lawn sweeper, roller and one or two other things under.

 

 

  Hope to get sheets and timber tomorrow.

Replacing Geothermal ground source pump seals high above courtside at the Garden (Old Boston Celtic reference) 

 

Then off to another school for a major gas smell. Boiler vent valve solenoid had a meltdown and was pumping gas outside at a vent as fast as it could flow thru an 1 1/2 " pipe

You'll have noticed of course, Mick, it's Ewan who's got the spade.

 

  Builders merchants re-opened Monday, so ordered the roof sheets for the lean to this afternoon. Also some boards for a new lid for the coal bunker.

  You're not allowed to go in, so they give you time to go and collect. Park up outside the gate and then one of the men brings what you've ordered out on a pallet.

  Back home and fitted the boards to the frame. Not a nail used. All screws.

 

Tomorrow I'll felt it.

After picking up the new valve at @D_Mac ville, I went to start changing this boiler gas vent valve. Had to cut off the old coil tin and shatter the old coil. IT WAS WELDED ON!

our government laid out travel guidelines due to covid19. You were allowed out for one our of exercise. Basically walk out of your house and go for a walk. To most these rules were fairly simple. However we have a huge number of those who manage to say it was ambiguous and find ways of justifying driving miles to go for a walk. 
I live in a national park, car parks, businesses and toilets are closed. Everything is locked down... yet we have had scores of people coming to visit. Worse still they are coming to drink and party on the moors, it is madness. 
Fortunately we have had police present handing out fines and turning folk away.

Did you see the story about the transport worker who died after some scumbag spat at her! Straight up murder if you ask me.

  Mark and Mick are correct in what they say. I'm just outside the Lake District National Park. Same things happening as in Marks area. Now the rules have been changed, to say you can drive any distance to exercise, people will be coming from everywhere.

   I'd like to visit Mark, Ewan and Jake. He's only an hour and a half drive away. But I won't.

It's ambiguous if you are belligerent, ignorant, selfish, stupid or all four...  those looking for a reason to ignore the rule and with no common sense are the same ones that post propaganda saying the rules aren't clear.

 

We shouldn't really need stiff like like this spelling out...

Sounds like the folks next door. 6 "adults" drinking on a 5 x 8 deck. Kids playing tackle football in a yard strewn with debris. Can't fix stupid!

Tell me about it!

30 years as a cop,  having to explain why you can't go down that road because there is fatal accident and I know your mum lives down there and I know it's the only way you know how to get there and I know she will be worried... shall I go move the dead body out of the road so you can get through? You'd like that?  Well unlucky!  A police officer is telling you the road is closed, go away and be a problem to someone else. 

Genuine exchange with a lady motorist, but only one of many many others. 

People chose not to listen or to make their own stupid choices and we have to deal with the consequences.  

As you said we should not need to be spelling out stuff.

national park car park had 39 cars yesterday... ice cream vans are back out - lock down isn't easing. It's over and business as usual from some!
