Dan.gerous 2,696 #601 Posted August 16, 2020 Had to make up a storage box for a 300kg shaft we had laying about in the warehouse ashore. Managed to make it out of scraps I find in the skip, even kept the logos and other signs so it looks like a professional one to the casual observer. I like making things out of other people's rubbish

Mickwhitt 4,612 #603 Posted August 17, 2020 Busy day, toad rescue first thing, this years newly hatched toads crossing the road fall in the drains and need lifting out Then onto some electrical work, wiring in a heavy duty feed from the fuse box to my 150 litre compressor. I can use my air tools now without draining the smaller compressor tanks. Then back to my brothers to affix splash backs in the kitchen. Mower day tomorrow. Stormin 9,981 #604 Posted August 17, 2020 (edited) Took the SWMs front fork stations apart this morning. After lunch went to see a chap who does grit/sand blasting. He's moved elsewhere. But found a chap in a near by building working on an old car. Building was full of old cars and machinery. Chatted with him for about an hour or two. Up shot was I can go there anytime after 10am and use his blasting cabinet. After measuring the door, I think the frame will just fit. All he wants is a tenner for the electric. Pullstart 62,834 #605 Posted August 18, 2020 I used Grandpa’s NH loader/tiller to smooth the driveway path and backfill a drain culvert at the road the past couple days. Me thinks a SCUT is in the future for the stables! 1 1

Redneckdavis 308 #608 Posted August 19, 2020 Been working on the tailgate for a week. Built the bench Sunday/Mon after work. Stained the bottom tonight 3 5
Mickwhitt 4,612 #609 Posted August 20, 2020 Love the tailgate bench! Great idea. Today been doing some snagging at my brothers sorting out odds and ends on the bathroom and kitchen. Looking into a herbicide spraying licence, apparently I have to go on a £500 course to be able to use pesticides. Another example of making money for nothing lol.

Achto 27,565 #614 Posted August 22, 2020 (edited) Most county fairs have been canceled this year, our county was no exception. Starting last night through today the carnival set up their food vendor trailers at the fair grounds to offer a drive through service for carnival food. I loaded up on corn dogs, fresh cut French fries, and deep fried cheese curds. Topped that off with a funnel cake & a blue raspberry snow cone. I can almost hear my arteries hardening as I write this. Edited August 22, 2020 by Achto 4 2
ebinmaine 67,421 #615 Posted August 22, 2020 I try to avoid crowds for the most part but I do miss fried dough at the local fair this year....
Mickwhitt 4,612 #616 Posted August 22, 2020 The new engine for the Hyundai mower arrived during the week but today was my first chance to have a look at fitting it. Half an hour and the new engine was on, wired and working. Runs like a dream but its too wet to give it a try on grass. Also spent a bit of time finishing my compressor installation in the mower shop, I now have access to 150l of air and an umbilical to feed the separate garage if I need air in there. Cricket on all day and England 🇬🇧 are trouncing Pakistan 🇵🇰 Ah the English summer...
