Thanks. Still not done with it. Trying new things with stains. Now that it’s kinda cooling off I can finish up some things. Yes Tom, that means your way overdue cup. It’s almost there…….:hide:

Cut and split a couple old blow downs.   Had to get the snow  machine out to get to my splitter.   I left Mr. Onan run for 1/2 an hour.

Fought with my coon hound to get her to eat her breakfast, counted Red River trailers going past the house hauling asphalt, paid doctor bill, met health insurance deducible finally, mowed back yard, bought some steel, bought another flavor of dog food for the coon hound. ( she likes variety!) stepped in dog poop. Cleaned dog poop from sneaker grooves. Read despondent Viking fans posts about being 0-2. :)

I picked it up for around 1k.  new roof and ceiling coming soon!! interior tear out almost done. if rain holds out tomorrow i will start removing roofing at least 4 sheets of 7/16 osb to be put in and 6 roof joists to be built?

My daughter bought a like new "totaled" trailer that was in a campground that was hit by a tornado.  She paid about 10% of its value, then replaced the bent jack and the water heater that was allowed to freeze and burst, no other damage. Can you spell insurance fraud?

Someone saw an opportunity to get out of owning that trailer with some extra $$.

My thought is that the dealer that sold the “damaged” trailer saw an opportunity to sell a much larger one to the “victims”.  I do have some inside information.  Crooked dealer that totaled the trailer, crooked consumer that filed the claim and stupid insurance folks that look the other way.

My crew of masons started back on the Missouri house last Friday.  The replaced the last broken Intel.  They will be back bright and early Monday morning to build the knee walls for the front porch steps.

I drove from our Mi. location yesterday to our Mo. location.  Today, I got the 1st course of the brick porch side railings laid and the first 2 courses of brick lipid for the corner columns.  I got the middle column and railing laid out.  Now, we can get the knee walls properly centered on one of the corner columns and the middle column.

The masons left a much nicer finish on the mortar joints in the bricks they laid than I did on the bricks I laid.  I'll have to ask them what kind of rookie mistake I am making to finish my mortar joints.

The bricks I am re-using are 100 years old, solid, and of an odd size that is no longer available.

The advice I got this morning was to mix the mortar a little wetter than usual, just lay mortar on the edges of the bricks to give it some 'squish' room, and that soaking the bricks in water before laying them would extend the working time of the mortar.

To get a nicer finish on the joints, I need to strike them sooner.  The roughness was caused by not striking them soon enough - the mortar had set too much causing me to scrape mortar off rather than smoothing it over.

I have been casually on the look out for a camper shell for the chevy.  Right deal finally came around over the weekend.  Wife isn't crazy about it.  Said people will think you're 90 when they see you coming down the road

Noticed that your trailer is trying to lift up the rear of the tractor. Good thing you have all that weight on there. 😄

Good eyes Don.   Yeah, I have a lot of overhang on that load.      Actually it's nearly balanced with zero tongue weight.  I could hear it banging up and down as I was driving.

I worked on the boaf (break out another fifty).       Had fuel spraying out of the connector.   I found the "O" ring was split and no way to replace it.  The ball plunger on the engine half was no longer staying centered and had slid around the ball and cut the "O" ring.

Back in business $54 later.

Oh I've got the ramps.  I'm debating if a WH should be the extra weight in back during winter weather :occasion-snowman:

Made a transmission jig. This is going to get a lot of use. Last pic is me standing straight up and my arm down. Ergonomics are key to getting older. 🤪 Cheers, Gitty up!
