  Just a tip for cutting vinyl siding or soffet.  Just make a slide jig for your circular saw that holds it square to a cutting table and use an abrasive blade for the cuts. It will not chip out, I promise. If the job is small, a thin cutting disc on a hand held four inch grinder works as well

I’ve got a compound miter saw that slides.  I’ve always turned the blade backwards.  It does pretty well too, but I’ve not heard of abrasive blades for it.  Cool!

I'm guessing that the ends of the rafters and maybe even the roof deck under the shingles have been wet for a while in that area. If so, they’ll need to be looked at for possible mold. Keeping the soffit open for now will let you get a good look in the warmer weather and you can remediate as necessary.

There was some sign of moisture at one point.  I am not sure if it was before this damage, or after.

Pullstart I am not sure what size abrasive blades will fit your miter saw as I am guessing it to be a ten or twelve inch. Possible choices might be for a metal chop saw or a concrete saw. Make sure the thing is rated at the RPM of your miter saw

Finished the garage conversion by laying thick plastic floor tiles today. It's lovely and warm in there thanks to fitting radiators connected to the central heating system of the house. Time to start mmoving machines in.

Can we see details of the neck yoke attachment to the frame?

Where is it going?

Will oxen wear it or is it for display?

Do the neck yokes spring open for installation on the oxen?

How are they pulled back together on the animal?

Thank you Ed. Just a lot of practice and yes patience. This particular one is of great importance to me. Although its style is unique to the area I am from, it contains influences in style and techniques from a few individuals whom I learned from, therefor the inscription on it. It is also the only one ever fully documented through out every step of its construction. I am the last and only one who makes this particular type of yoke and I want to leave a record of how they were made for future generations. 
 

 Yoke is fully functional and ready to be used.  I hope one day to take it overseas and use it at least once. For now it will just be displayed here and “eventually “ in my children’s and grandchildren’s homes. 
 

 The neck yokes (arches)are sprung open and fitted around oxen necks. The yoke is then lowered over their necks fitting arches into their respective leather straps. Metal pin is then placed through holes in arches holding oxen to yoke. Oxen team is then backed up to cart’s tongue or pulling bar which is fitted through leather straps in center of yoke. Yoke is then secured with a wooden pin driven through straps behind yoke as shown on photos of model below.

Real mild.  Cows are getting too expensive to raise. Gonna try milking gators instead.  Hope to get a herd established before the pythons move in.
