Stormin 9,981 #2927 Posted August 25, 2021 Was up at the farm yesterday repairing the big implement shed doors overhead runner. Mates grandson bent everything when he drove in with the post knocker and didn't think to lower the arms when driving in. We did an excellent job of straightening the angle iron lintel. Using the Kramer telehandler to push it out and up, we finish off with 10T jack, long length of scaffolding and acet/oxy torch, One of the runners was quite bent, and the track closed up. Gas bottles into play again to straighten it and a large chisel driven along the track saved that section. With the tractor transport box as a safety cage on the Kramer, we replaced the repaired section of track. Readjusted the height of one of the doors and all is as good as new. Only things we had to replace were the track brackets nuts and bolts. We had to burn those off. They came out of the stock of used ones in the workshop. My farmer mate reckoned if some company had done the job, who would have replaced everything with new, it would have cost something like £1,500. I asked if I could have a raise or bonus. He just laughed. Good job we've been good friends for over 40 years. 5

Gregor 4,846 #2942 Posted August 25, 2021 (edited) I haven't done much motor or tractor work the last couple of weeks. My parts for the MV 16 are at the machine shop, and I don't want to tear into another project until that one is done. That doesn't mean I haven't been doing anything though. Cleaned up and rearranged my storage area. Everything that wasn't on wheels, is now on wheels. Except for a garbage can, and a step ladder. Or at least taken off the floor. Easy to move and sweep. I still don't have room for anymore tractors, until I get rid of some of these Lawn Boys. Anyone need a mower? CHEAP ! I have 7 or 8 sill out in a storage unit. I also built me a new cabinet for my garage. Wheel Horse parts storage? Nope. Already for winter storage. Although it's running full tilt today. I also installed 4 back-up cameras in my 2 trucks. First two I got didn't work. I just installed the new ones this morning. So far so good. I think I am pretty much caught up now. Having a I forgot to add, This weekend is our local city wide Antique Days, and Tractor show. I will be taking 9 tractors, if I can find a trailer to transport them, otherwise only 3 or 4. The last water heater I installed arrived on a semi and one of @AMC RULES buddies lowered it into a boiler room with a crane.

Stormin 9,981 #2946 Posted August 28, 2021 Into town this morning for some chicken wire and other bits and bobs. Back home and fixed the wire to the decking railings to stop the pup getting through. After lunch mowed green and verges. SWMBO has decided to alter the two rockeries in the garden and make them easier for her to manage. So after cleaning down the C-125 and deck, I ended up altering the retaining wall on one. Needless to say, nothing done with the C-81 trans.

WHX?? 48,828 #2949 Posted September 1, 2021 (edited) Bought the old power washer out of mothballs. I had bought this quite a few years ago at home cheapo and had problems with the pump on it right out of the box. Took it back in exchange for a different one and a year later out of warranty ... yep pump problems. Generac basically told me to stuff it.... go figure eh @Achto !!! Turns out the unloader design was not quite right so s canned the pump and put the rest in storage. Finally bit the bullet & ordered a new pump for it and it was plug & play! New pump really hauls the mail and makes the Briggs grunt. The Briggs is a good one or so I've been told so an oil change, fuel lines & filter & some seafoam later she fired right up like she didn't sit for 15+ years! I had to replace one on a Washer with a Honda six months after buying! And it did not freeze like some get damaged!
