Happy 4th! Special thanks to all our veterans, law enforcement, and EMS folks that serve and have served our great country and its citizens!

Celebrated with some friends a bit further out in the country and pooled our resources for a very nice firework show!

Made a trip to tend to some family business involving squatters on our land. Eviction/trespass orders served and druggies were very polite to the Mrs. when Mr. Is just behind, open carrying his 9mm carbine on land he owns!

Made a visit while in the area to visit some relatives and thank them for their service.

And a little reminder of my own mortality..lol

Sardines and Saltines

A man after my heart!  Straight out of the tin on a paper plate!  Just like Mom used to 'cook'!!!!

I love the ones packed in Hot Sauce!  "I put that chit on everything!"  EXCEPT...

Liverwurst (sadly, I will never again have the homemade Grosmutter brand!) and Onion on Rye with plenty of NOT YELLOW mustard!

Did she cook the tin or the paper plate?

Unfortunately that's a legitimate question considering the cooking skills of certain family members of mine.

Sort of... but we would hear the can opener and moments later "Supper's Ready!"

Actually Mom was a pretty good cook.  Her Sauerbraten was to die for!

I think the joke was, and it may have been Rodney Dangerfield... " My wife is a pretty good cook.  She cooks just like my Mother used to open! "

and another of his; " Not saying my wife is a bad cook, but the flies in the neighborhood chipped in and had window screens installed on the house!"

I suspect comments on cooking is a more controversial topic than either paint color or oil!

My Dad once remarked at the table that the handmade noodles my mom served weren't as "clumpy" as the ones his Mom made. It was years before we had handmade noodles (which I loved) again.

Hey, Army field snacks are an entire cuisine unto themselves. Smoked oysters, saltines, and some spray cheese, oh yeah! Little ranger puddin for desert, heck I've even grilled moose with my e-tool as a spatula, and boiled fresh caught crawdads in my canteen cup!

I decided to put our bins out last night, a day early to see if anyone caught the bug and put theirs out.

Turns out four of my neighbours don't know what day it is 🤣

OK. So. Been thinking if ways to mount a petrol hedge trimmer on the C-125 so I can sickle cut grass and weeds by the path edge.

Needed something that was height adjustable and that keeps the cutter bar horizontal.

Came up with an arm which swings up and down but maintains the orientation of the end fixture.

Made a model of it to test the theory and manufacture method.

Then made the mounting bracket to fit to the plow frame for extra versatility.

Its only part done but I think it will be ok.

I made it swivel on a slew ring so I can stow it for road travel.

The arm on the photos is the model just so I could see what it would work like. I will make up the real one and then work out how to attach the powered trimmer to it.

Went to a friend's house to change a altenator on his car for him and forgot some of my tools, so picked this up. Not a bad set to keep in the truck.

I have a vintage toolbox that's about that size I'm going to fill up with tools to leave in the '86 F250.

Kind of hoping I never need it.....

Finally...after having 10 trees cut down(too many leaves, pollen, sticks, acorns) in my yard in mid May, I finally finished the detailed clean up. Grass coming back pretty decent where it looked like Patton's army came through...

Washed my wheel barrow, rake, shovel, and pitch fork to go back in the building...

Work on the gt14 dash, and progress continues outfitting the mini lathe for spindle work.

Using the cut off portion of spindle to diy a morse taper drill holder for the tail stock.

Been restoring the  1964 Eddleman mower I got last year. Have the base cleaned up and painted. Had to cut the rusted pulleys off  Ordered some Tuesday form Zoro were on the front porch this morning.

Could not get the rusted on tires off the split rims with out cutting them. Got the rusted rims repaired just need to get them painted.

When I get the mower back together I'll give the 8 HP  Biggs a try to see if it's any good.
