Sat in the recliner all day while an HVAC contractor installed a new furnace and a/c unit and my GSD destroyed her crate and covered a room in diarrhea.

We put in 54 holes of golf today, I think.  Hot shower, neck and upper back full of bio-freeze, we’ll be back at it when the cost is off the greens around 7:45 am.  Good times, no matter the score!  “YOU DON’T SAY “WOAH” ON THE GOLF COURSE!  YOU SAY “FORE”!”  - My 72 year old “Caddy” golf partner... :ROTF:

Golf, golf, a good walk spoiled lol.

I tried it once but I could never get the ball past that darned windmill...

We have a 9 hole course near us, its built on an old colliery yard and a lot of the born again golfers are retired miners. Bought a set of bats and a fancy bag for them and off they go.

Walking alongside the course you hear a lot more anglo saxon Yorkshire than "Whoa" or "Fore"

I often muse that you don't hear players on the PGA tour say

"F€@% me, a thowt that were going in't bleedin hoil." Or "Gerrin't hoil ya little bas%£€@#!"

Anyway, more from our sports correspondent later in the show.

I had a productive day checking over several mowers ready for the start of the cutting season, cut my own lawn, strimmed the verge opposite, did some work on the new kitchen units and looked after several guest dogs in between.

Golf? No time for chasing a little ball round a field full of mole holes.

Anybody out there have one of the newer B&S engines that B&S says that oil changes are not necessay? Comments? Opinions?

I don't have one but I'll happily offer comments and opinions. 😀

It's a farce.

The purchasing public has become so lazy and prone to dispose of everything that Briggs decided to use it their advantage.

Get an oil sucker and defy societal norms.

Change your non-changable oil.

I agree here.  Cynical self was saying that the no oil change idea is playing into the desposeable products idea, which supports the sale of more engines.

Lubed for life 4 cycle engines?  Ya know when the lube gets gone, the life of the machine ends.

There is a wording for that kind of Business - planed obsolescence.

Even with a good oil in it, it can run maybe 3-5 years without an oilchange.

Depending on the use, the quality of first Oil and so on it can last little more than they have planed.

But planed obsolescence is nothing new to me, it is common since years on Washing machines, Fridges, Dishwasher they are planed to last 10 Years, that‘s their lifespan. Several machines are planed in to become exchange within warranty,

4 years later they did not become fixed because so called „special parts“ are not longer available or cost more than a new machine.

Same f*** is happen on Printers, they be planed for 6 years to sell new sorts of Ink.

Some of them can be reactivated, as long as their secret is known of how to.

If the Engine is designed to last „only“ 4 Years, it can be happen it exceeds its lifetime and do exact what they planed.

Because of the captured abrasives in the oil, it has its own timeswitch integrated.

even with an suctionpump you left a lot of dirt in the Engine.

If they begin to burn a little oil because of beginning wear, the most Customer will buy immediately new while they don‘t like a stinker.

Sad but true.

So in my opinion the question must more sounds - for how long of use they had designed this Engine.

My wife and I took a canoe ride today - 1st of the year.  Paddled across the lake and followed the shore line back.  We saw a bald eagle and a pair of swans.  Lilly pads are starting to sprout from the bottom of the lake, marsh marigolds are blooming, and May apples are sprouting in the woods.

While walking the dog this morning, I saw a log in the pond next to the trial with about 15 painted turtles lined up on it sunning themselves.

Every summer I try and pick one outdoor activity I don't know how to do, or do well, and become proficient in it.

Master a particular fishing bait, pick up road cycling, learn how to kayak, fix up a broken boat...there's been a lot of skills and activities that I wouldn't have necessarily done without setting out my mind to do it.

Last year was lawn care. I learned that a lot of the improvements take a year to come to fruition, so I have been hitting it hard again this year.

The substrate under golf greens is nearly all sand. It's not bad to work with. I'd pick it over clay soil any day of the week. In fact, I'm only a couple miles south of Lake Michigan, so my soil has a very high sand percentage as well.
