I thought you were a Northerner, Mick? Going soft over there in Tykeland

Hey I never said I was Frost proof lol.

Spent enough time freezing my nuts off on patrol so any opportunity to keep warm is fine with me.

Lovely afternoon but papers keep saying snow on the way!

Spent a few minutes wiring up the new ignition switch in Trina's Pigpen 867. Figured out I'll have to remove the fuel tank, install the dash plate, then put in the switch.

Wasn't planning on that today.

Switched over to working on the firewood for next season. Spent a couple hours sectioning logs, limbing, trimming etc.

Cut through a short section of new path for increased forest access.

After suppah I was still feeling decent as far as body structure so I went out back and ran the chipper for awhile.

Trina and her mom helped me with firewood after they had filled up the upstairs wood box and added a board to the fence gate.

The Paint Department layed out a little more on Colossus. Spindles are now Apple Red.

Has anybody else been down this road?  If so, what did you do with the adhesive left after pulling the old tiles?

Last time i ran into this, i scraped everything down then, overlayed with 1/4 inch then went to town. If ya have one of those hand electric planers that may work if it doesnt spin fast enough to heat up and gum the adhesive. Either way that wont gum up like a sanding belt.

Spent the morning building a little raised bed affair for my sister in law.

Just a few railway sleepers and hey presto.

The girls helped out too which was fun lol.20210404_140124.jpg.ff9ec77e9f7bce1a6c6e0ba6b8b29bfe.jpg

Finished in time to watch the university boat race.

Two teams of posh lads paddling about on the river.

Can't fail to be impressed by the sheer strength and endurance of those involved.

IMHO, nothing on the water like the Jersey Speed Skiff!

The guy doing the lettering on this one is older brother of one of my best friends.

And Bud Bender (RIP Uncle Bud!) was Uncle of another of my best friends.

The "Regatta" in Red Bank was the highlight of my summer!

Right around 5:40 he's reminiscing my youth!

Yellow is where I growed up at, blue where Alan lived, green where the Bender nephew live, and white where the annual Regatta was held.

Doctor shot me down.
A protracted inflammation in the right shoulder that was ignored for too long with painkillers.

the worst for me, i am not allowed to play on my tractor at the moment.

More logging today and a couple of nice, if rough rides to where the wood was. Full length of the bridleway and up a long field, to the gate way into the next field.. Maybe a mile total. From that gate way the ground is very soft and wet. So the Sears and Saxon trailer parked up. The felled trees started just through the gate way, with some good stuff lying there.

Started up the chainsaw and cut up a full trailer load. Took that home, then back for another load. The only draw back was having to carry the cut lumber back to the trailer.

There's still a lot there, but it'll have to wait till things dry up a bit. The timber is just lying where it fell and the farm telehandler needs to get in to sort things out. When it can I'll go and get more.

Have you put thought to building a larger or longer trailer?

Two things against doing that, Eric. (1) The ground I travel on is rough and can be soft in places. (2) I've not got room for a bigger/longer one. Also it's not all that often one would be needed.

Did you have to call and ask directions on how to get there? :hilarious:

I picked up this monster two stage for free tonight.  I told her during winter I could get it running for her, but she insisted on a brand new one.  If anything, those tires would fit a :wh: front end!

blury photo needs a retake, I didn’t realize that when I was out there.
