ebinmaine 67,627 #1552 Posted March 6, 2021 Just got done spending a couple hours dialing in the new sights I put on the .22 pellet rifle and the .22 rimfire. Had Trina doing most of the shooting so she could get more accustomed to both guns. We dialed them both in at a point less than 10 yards out because that's our normal usage range. We'll do some longer range plinking when the weather's a little warmer. 3

haydendavid380 759 #1555 Posted March 7, 2021 Took a break from my usual weekend garage tinkering to head to the casino to play some poker with a couple of guys from work, followed by a couple hours of beer and appetizers down at the pub. First time I've been out to do that in quite a long time.

ohiofarmer 3,276 #1572 Posted March 10, 2021 (edited) Did something changing tires today that qualifies as "Why didn't I think of this--SOONER" At some point a feller runs out of birthdays and i am very close to four score and nine. I am trading a junk car for a really nice ahrends snowblower and it was time to swap some tires from the junker car to the almost junker car. I was gonna take 4 mounted tires to the tire changer guy in town because i hate to demount them much more than mount them back on.So just remove four wheels and take them to town in the SUV. I guess to avoid confusion, the swap was necessary to keep the best wheels with the best tires. As the car was jacked up, an idea hit that was so simple, it is a wonder that it has not shown up yet on youTube or somewhere. After jacking up the car to remove the tire, All i did was to spin a three lug nuts back on the disc brake to hold it steady and let the disc down close to the bead ans she came off with one stroke and a bit of stomping. I found it necessary to add a short piece of channel iron to make it work even better. You know what comes next, and no,I did not have much luck with a Wheel horse rear tire that has been on for forty years, but i have yet to invent the thingamabobberwhirlymagoo accessory to keep the tire from sliding away from the rim. You guys are free to experiment and i have some ideas already in the nogginformulus Edited March 10, 2021 by ohiofarmer 1
ClassicTractorProfessor 5,314 #1573 Posted March 11, 2021 Seems all I did today to break stuff. Been replacing a bent front axle in a 2012 Ram 3500 with one from a salvage yard. Got it all out in today, and was pressing in ball joints. I recently bought an Icon 1/2 inch drive long handle flex head ratchet to try out, I’ve been extremely happy with it, the ratchet teeth are super smooth and it is just an all around comfortable ratchet to use. That being said it didn’t like having all 165 pounds of me pulling on it with the help of a 3 foot cheater pipe, just almost ended up flat on the floor when she turned loose. Then after work I twisted off two water pump bolts, more to come on that story later
ohiofarmer 3,276 #1574 Posted March 12, 2021 i was changing oil on the car today and had the car jacked up and thought I would try to use the weight of the car to press a rear Wheel horse tire loose from the rim. i wound up removing the tire with a carbide saw blade as it was welded on with old tire stop leak. That thing is rusted and stuck on to perfection. Gonna get out the torch and see if the rim rubber will come loose . Gonna try again with the car press on some other tires as i think it's a great idea that worked like a charm on the auto tires . I have tickled tires from the rim with a steady hand on a backhoe before, but this one ---no way
