 The axe or Kevin. :hide:

Must admit I used to split my logs like that. Now I'm older and  knackered wiser, I use Stefan's method above. :handgestures-thumbup:

That‘s hopefully not a sign of Aging....

but if so, Kevin is young, he can do it. 😂

That's how Trina is.

Something about processing firewood....

She KNOWS there will be heat. No outside dependence on other companies to deliver fuel or the power company to keep the electricity on.

That's what I like about my Alaska stove    It only needs me to make it work.

Ours has been known to do the same. They work quite well.

I've got the same design in a TimberLine.  I'll never have that many mounts though...

You need to explain that red construction!

Combined with an axle bracket for mounting a plow frame.

That's about as close to being over the axle as one could get!  And I don't see it falling apart either!

Tires filled?  I'd have to add some cross links.  4-links are hard on my teeth.  I put a set on my new to me Bolens and they were getting to me.  I found almost enough spare links to fill them out to 2-links but I'm still missing 2 or 3.  I can feel them as they rotate.
What are you going to run on the front?  Blade or blower?

We've been having a really cold few days and the ground is well frozen. So today I returned to a tree I'd felled about 3 weeks ago. The ground was soft and rough, making it a bit dodgy working the day I felled it. Plus I only just managed to drive the Sears and loaded trailer out.

Today was ideal so off I went and set too. I got a nice load on the trailer and was just about to cut up some more, when the chainsaw stopped. After 13 years work it decided to lose compression. Back home I decided to go buy another saw while the dead on was investigated. If it's fixable having two saws will be handy. Also I want to get as much of the wood out of the field before it thaws again. That's my excuse anyway.

Hoping to get it all cut up and home tomorrow.

just to prove to certain people, you know who you are, who complain when no photo's, here's some.

Sears and Saxon.

I think I need a hair cut.

Carol came out to lend a hand. In reality she just wanted a photo' to send her sister in Wales.

All staged for her sister. I had to lift it out of the trailer for her and place it on her arms.  Can't wait to tell her sister when we can get down to Wales.

Dryer quit working, so blew it apart and fixed the singed wire that went to the high temp themostat and cleaned out all the dog hair from the vent assy.

Then took all our vacuums apart washed all the tanks and put the filters in the washing machine. My daughter had vacuumed dog pee up I guess with hers and there was wet muddy dog urine in it, I had to take it completely apart and wash everything!! So gross!!

Back to the field this afternoon. Three hours work and the trunk cut up and plus two loads home. New chainsaw made short work of the trunk. It's got a 2" longer bar and a thicker chain. Still some more to collect, but tomorrow is another day.

I KNOW! I KNOW! Hair cuts are not classed as essential during this lockdown. And there's no way I'm letting Carol get anywhere near with a pair of scissors.

Afraid for the Jugular?  ;)
