What did you do today?

That's what I like to see, Koen. Lots of firewood. :chores-chopwood:

Put the dozer blade on the C-125 today. The lane by us, what you can see of it for water, is covered in soggy, mushy leaves. So I spent a happy hour bulldozing them to the side and splashing back and forth through the flood like a big kid. :D

Down here in Newport News, VA with @Coulter Caleb at my cousin Paul’s house. For those of you that have been here for awhile, you know that my cousin Paul is a 20 year Navy veteran who served several tours in the “sandbox” with the Riverines.  While he was with that detachment, he purchased a house down here—then the economy tanked and property values plummeted.  About a decade later the values are finally starting to rise but the house which has been a rental since 2012 needs some freshening. The biggest project is a new roof.

Paul looking over the mess on Monday as we began tearoff.

Caleb has been an awesome worker and very valuable to us “old guys”!

Even a small 25 sq roof seems huge (K—in my best Trump impersonation😂) when you are tearing it clean and starting over.  So glad I don’t have to do this every day🥴

Finally started laying down some weatherwood shingles mid day yesterday.

Hopefully we can get most of it finished today...🤞🏻

Drained the swamp lane. Need to lift the pipe across a neighbours drive that links the two ponds. Needs lowering  by about 6". That will drop the hight of the pond. When full it's level with the lane. I can then lay the 3-1/2 pipe I've been given to replace the 2" one, that keeps getting blocked from lane to pond. Job for next week when neighbours son can help.

It was my old work colleagues funeral on Monday and no friends were allowed to attend because of covid.

I wanted to show my love for him so today I went to the tattoo parlour and had his collar number inked on my arm. Now his memory will be with me always.

God bless Steve

Went to my Inlaw’s to do some zone valve and pump wiring.  Got there just after the power company left, running an underground line to the new house.  My MIL couldn’t figure out why the back barn had no power...

Some of the wires looked crossed.  Oh boy, how do I ID them?  I used a meter and checked for continuity through two wires, the neutral and ground.  Then, I hooked stuff back up!  These splice connectors are sweet!

Started refreshing my dads 1996 toro 1028 power shift. New wear and tear parts, oil, carb and paint. Still a solid machine for being used its 1st 12 years of life in a commercial work atmosphere, then he hook it home after he retired it there for his own use. Other then paint still works like new. Not bad for 24 years of maine winters.

Sat in my tree stand from 5:30 till 10:30 AM     Saw 13 deer...all doe.     One doe laid down 40 yds from me at 9AM and was still there when I left for lunch at 10:30.

A quick nap and back in the tree at 1PM till dark.    Those bucks gotta move soon.

Went to an atv/quad dealership.  I was never in one before. Amazing what some of those side by sides go for!

It's next to impossible to find a decent 90cc quad for the boy.  We looked at the Suzuki, Kawasaki and kymco.  Might have to sell a tractor or 2

Neighbour across the way lives in an ex-farm house with a big concrete front yard. She lives on her own and is currently under going cemo' for cancer.

One side of the yard has a couple of big sycamore trees that have dumped most of their leaves in the yard. So today I went over with the C-125 and dozer blade. Yard looks a lot better now and just a big heap of leaves to move tomorrow.

I like a beer but it doesn't like me.

My latest adult beverage has been kapali and milk/cow or almond.
