Been a bit off colour lately, Mrs W had to have a covid test over the weekend as her friend tested positive last week. Wife came back negative so hoping I don't have it. What might a cubicle shed be in comparison to a barn? That's a term I've never heard for storage of cow poop or the things that make it. Stormin 9,981 #885 Posted October 20, 2020 (edited) It's a very big shed, divided into five sections. First two sections on the left looking at it, have barriers/stalls down each side. They are for the cows at night. They're still out during the day. The next two sections are full of silage. Over the winter the cattle will munch their way from front to back. The last section has machinery in there and some young stock in one quarter of it. I'll take some photo's when I'm up there next. Stormin 9,981 #896 Posted October 21, 2020 Been over to my mate Dunc's in Scotland. First job was to get his C-125 running. Quick fix. Duff plug. Was shorting out inside and not across the electrode. Another plug and all was well. Made and fitted a beam for the mezzanine loft in the workshop. Stormin 9,981 #897 Posted October 22, 2020 Back to Dunc's today. Timber for Mezzanine floor being delivered this morning. Only it didn't arrive till after lunch. Remember this? It's now looking like this. We did get the remainder of the racking assembled while waiting for the timber. Most is in position. Centre up right in place with box beam installed. After fitting stronger timber along opposite sides to support the floor trusses, the first floor truss was fitted in place. Only another 19 to go. Dunc did make an error when ordering trusses and brackets. Only ordered 20 brackets instead of the 40 we'll need. Hopefully get more brackets tomorrow and get all trusses in place. Stormin 9,981 #898 Posted October 23, 2020 Did well to day with the mezzanine floor. The shortage of brackets, was solved by fitting the floor trusses on the other side, on top of the support beams. Doing this had an advantage as it raises the floor, just enough to clear the digger roof if it ever needed to be worked on there. All brackets and trusses secured over the internal workshop. All trusses now in place except for the missing one front left. That will have to be fixed inside the uprights with brackets. End of play for now. Floor boards to be ordered. The down side is it's not nearer to me. Although we are maybe 15 miles apart, it's 54 by road and 1-1/4 hours drive depending on traffic.
